Problems last 2 weeks..

Hi,
I have been playing this game for 12 months with little problems..??:) and the last 2 weeks been having huge lag ang very high game server pings between 300-900
I normally ping aroung 25-30 in game.?
It has made the game unplayable.
I have reinstalled game and all patches to 1.4 but no change there is nothing running in background i have disabled all to test
the pc is running fine otherwise.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

You need to do the following:
Defrag hard drive
Anti-virus
Ad-aware
spy-bot
disk clean up
increase page memory

That will help, but also makesure you have unnecessary programs turned off, look here for guideance.

Also not, the latest BF2 1.41 patch causing ****loads of lag.

ah true dat forgot that one.
ya turn off programs like xfire quicktime IE, etc etc since you runnin on a single core.

Thx guys
I have fixed the high ping and lag problem.....
I cant believe I over looked an overheating processor..
I cleaned it out of dust and its firing on all cylinders again i have also increased my visual settings with no added lag..

defcon cleaning dust out of ur comp really helped ur ping probs, am gonna try cos i have same problem last few days its really annoying, BF2 is a class game when it works properly, when it dosn't its the most frustrating game eva
