Super Noob question - Getting into turrets not drivers seats

Sorry for the super noob question (I've tried searching with no luck).

How do u get into the turret of a vehicle and not the drivers seat?

I've tried pressing F1 to F12 with no luck.

F1 should be driver and F2 should be gunner, thats my default settings.

By default, you press E to get into the car and press F2 to change to the turret and F1 to go back to the driver's seat. That should be by default, unless you changed some of the settings.

Make sure if your keyboard has a "Function Lock" button, it's on. Mine for instance, F1 can either be F1 or "email"...make sure that it's locked on.

The vehicles and aircraft have position selectors that are defaulted to your function keysbut you could have changed them. Go into your options and double chek the right hand area called positions

Exactly what Dave88LX said. Even though you have pressed F1 to F12 on your keyboard, you'll probably find that the F-Lock button is off.
