Im back to bf2 after not playing for about a year need info.

Hi I stopped playing this game a good few months ago, but have came back to it. I have updated to 1.4 (1.1.2963 or something)

I've got the original BF2 with none of the add-on i.e. special forces.

so heres my questions:

1. I used to use All seeing Eye for servers, cause we all now how sucky the ingame browser is but there seems to not be that many servers as it used to have, is there another browser system that people are using or do I need to manually update the filters for ASE if so how?

2. Is there any popular mods out there, I remember desert combat was great but couldnt find any games that where really populated or how do I find populated mod servers.

3. Is there any other game modes other than conquest, perhaps through the use of a mod, (i.e. titan mode looks interesting in BF2142) I dont see why they havnt added in any other modes to this game.

well as you can see I'v been away from bf2 for ages so I hope im making sense.

uhhh....

everyone likes to use qtracker - not all seeing eye.

make sure you patch to 1.41 ftp://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/patches/BF2/1.41/

there are a few popular mods out right now. check the mod discussion forum. FH2 and Desert Conflict (not affiliated with Desert Combat - the DC folks work for THQ now).

from what i remember, PoE and Project reality have different game modes.

Infantry only is a different game mode although highly controversial. I would advise playing a few rounds and discovering things for yourself, get back to the pace and feel of the game :)

1.You could use gamespy, but most people prefer qtracker.

Hi Iv downloaded PoE2 and Project Reality and Qtracker.
When I use Qtracker to join PoE or PR it loads, takes ages, gets to 100% then it always says "connection to server lost".

I havent got a clue why this happens can anyone shed any light on this.
My firewall is configured to allow all these programs, could it be settings on qtracker that is loosing the connection

Or www.game-monitor.com and Alt+Tab and Copy+Paste an IP. Still works quickest for me.

Hi I tried copying and pasting from that game server web site but the same thing. Is there a way to see why the connection is lost, like a log file so I know the reason behind it.
Im going to try orginal BF2 and see if thats working still.

Iv tried booting up the original BF2 and using the ingame browser and I got the same error.
I dont understand, it was working last night and since Iv installed PoE and PR and Qtracker it comes up saying
"connection to server is lost"
