Returning full time to bf2

After some weeks of retirement (playing Dungeon Lords and bf2142) I returned yesterday to this game and I had a blast.
I played only maps without planes and the infantary in this game is so much better than the one in bf2142 that I don´t know if I will return to play that game anytime soon.

In bf2142 there are so much noobs I can´t belive, normally when playing as infantary in bf2 I get 1.5 k/d ratio...I´ve only played abaut 10 hours of bf2142 and the two rounds I played several days ago ended 29-4 and 31-8...and most of the deaths came from calnmates that were playing in the other team.

Long live bf2 .

I am seriously thinking of un-installing 2142, I gave it a good go, but I just feel empty when playing it. "Two" is much more fulfilling, and I never thought I'd miss the sight of planes and helicopters, but I did! Also, I don't know about these new graphical improvements they supposedly made, everything looks better in "2", in my opinion. It's like putting on an old pair of slippers, it feels good to be back! :)

2142 feels "dumbed down" to me. Yeah, the aircraft are overpowered in BF2, but I'd still rather have them than not. I think it was lazy design by DICE, thinking "Ok, I know, we'll just nerf the air vehicles entirely", easy way out.

Sorry for the late response.
Dungon Lords is a CRPG, with lots of bugs and one of the most unfinished games I ever played...but in the end very addictive.
I like role playing games that palys in the first or 3rd person view, this is one of them, not he best abut a funny one to relax a bit .

^ if u like watching fps doug, u should watch their series called "pure pwnage" its prob one of my favorites

and bf2 still has its problems...in karkand, whenever im sniping in the hills to the left of hotel, and i take a glance over at the hotel, nades are just everywhere, like i thikn more nades were thrown than bullets fired

Interesting read on 2142 guys, i only played the beta and demo but it seemed to be lot simpler game than BF2, with the unlocks as an alternative to overall depth( i.e. less vehicles, playschool air vehicles that you ram into the ground and do very little damage, baron landscapes - only tried 2 maps etc etc )

I am also returning to BF2. I was able to get to Brigadier General in less than 2 months in BF2142, and now it is just boring. I like the maps in BF2 better...

21's O.K. There's just something about it that feels blase .

I also notice on returning to BF2, that the 21 maps are very flat, which doesn't lend itself to any form of surprise or anticipation. The only thing that changes are the distances between the points. Some are further away then others. It seems that's the only thing that defines the larger maps. Very few maps have any obstacles as far as terrain to overcome.

There's a few with high ground that's worth keeping , but only one point fits that description in each map. The small maps have choke points which is interesting to take advantage of from a strategy standpoint. But after a while it seems like the same gun battle is being played out over and over. Less diversity in the gameplay all around if you ask me.

I found myself disconnecting after about an hour of 21. The first time I went back to BF2 , it was 3am before I even realized it. That tells me one game is much more immersing then the other.

I'm going to keep in in the HD because it will be a nice break from BF2 now and then , with out leaving the series or genre.

yeah, I played the demo and tried that for a little bit but I never did buy 2142. It held little to no interest for me.
