I am an old Karkand/Sharqi/Warlord/Ghost tank whore 3-star gen w/ a 2.2 spm and admittedly
average infantry stats that has recently "seen the light", I have been playing just infantry for the last few weeks, I just never got into infantry like this before because when I was a noob I could not get a decent weapons k/d ratio w/ arty/planes/choppers/tanks breathin' down my neck, I just never complained because both sides get the same equipment, & I put that equipment to "good use"

I started a new account this weekend to check my progress, & have a 3.46 spm w/ is 85% combat points, & all infantry w/ a 1.94 k/d

Not great, but not too bad either

I <3 IO because it is as fair a combat as you will see in BF2, if you get raped, it wasn't because of some huge "GODLIKE" mismatch

The only thing I miss about fighting in vehicles is the ability (POWER) to more directly influence the outcome of the round (aces in vehicles = the win) aka "God mode"

I see why peeps glorify infantry combat skills

Ummm...this is a BF2 forum, it is a place to share info, experiences, viewpoints, & ideas on BF2

The RPK-74 is "hands down" my fav weapon when playing mec, but I mostly play assault when USMC

I remember joining a server on Jalalabad, I was an engy and I've started laying mines at the main road. After a while, I realized it was an IO server… :laugh:
Stupid filters!
If I've deselected an option, I expect not to find it among the selected servers.

IO is fun, but should be unranked or have different stats of those from regular BF2

I agree w/ you, I used to say the same thing, but EA/Dice makes the rules, & I am determined to pwn no matter what the rules are, I adapt, & evolve to overcome these challenges, I specialized in using armor to take flags, & destroying enemy armor ftw!

Dudes said I "sucked" because my infantry weapons k/d's weren't impressive, but I wasn't getting killed by other infantryman, I was killing the infantry in front of me, & taking their flags only to be punished by GOD (arty) because the arty cycles as fast as the darn flag

Now that it is man vs. man, EVEN MAN VS. SQUAD (out comes the GL lol) I pwn W/OUT being punished by the ALMIGHTY

ps. Even tho' I love IO I still like to go back to vehicle maps, & play infantry sometimes, I don't do quite as good as I do in IO, but since I play infantry most of the time now I still do good, nothing like the feeling of haveing a good round playing infantry in a vehicle map, only trouble is when the guys in the vehicles only concentrate on killing infantry, & avoid each other lol

I agree. To the OP, I would rather have Artillery then constant nade spamming.

I'm surprised you chose the F2000. I've seen you use it some on XSF but I've always felt the vanilla assault weapons to be far superior. Anyhow, I'll have a nice chuckle when I see the 800# gorilla running around:laugh: See you on the battlefield with the rest of us pub scrubs, lol

Yeah, I teamed up with Gorilla last night and it was quite fun. Since i have only been playing for a short while I grew tired of vehicle maps after playing about 2 of them maybe.

Note: It was funny watching gorilla pwn a 4 man squad trying to take back city entrance from him while I was running back to help. LOL
