BF2 Crashing Problem

Newbie Poster here, so please be kind.

I just turned 40 (ACK!) and decided to treat myself and purchased a couple of Nvidia 6600GT SLI cards. All for the love of playing BF2. I connect fine, I can pick a server fine, but when it starts loading the game, everything crashes back to the desktop. I've tried all sorts of settings changes, but it crashes everytime. VERY frustrating!

I've tried finding some sort of solution via GOOGLE, but nadda. Can anyone help an old man out?

System Specs:
Albatron K8SLI Motherboard
AMD 3700 64 bit CPU
4 Gigs PC3200 DDR
250 Gig Western Digital HDD
2 Nvidia 6600GT 128Mb Video Cards running SLI
(and I have mounted a 120mm fan beside the 6600's to help keep them cooled down)

im running two 7900 GTs, new intel dual core CPU and 2 gig RAM and mine crashed after 5 minutes of game time, every time, this is a brand new Alienware rig that cost me nearly 2 grand, so reinstalled it, etc etc, drivers, etcetc, and now it crashes as soon as i join a server, so i feel your pain and would love someone to be able to sort this out, life without Battlefield is barely worth getting out of bed for.

what kind of os are you using?
and what kind of connection?

XP 64 OS and DSL connection.

You can delete 1 of them at the top under thread tools.
