    Theater ribbons vs. Medals

I apologize if this has been discussed before.
I have recently become elegible for the SAS ribbon (50 hours as SAS), which was rewarded to me without problems.
On bf2s, the criteria for the SAS medal (and all medals) states that I need 50 hours as SAS, as well as 50 wins and high score of 100. I have the 100 score, and 50 wins, and 50 hours played (hence the ribbon). My progress shown towards getting the SAS medal says that I only have 26 hours played as SAS, which contradicts my ribbon. Is there a bug here that deals with progress towards faction medals not tracking? I should have that medal.
I am also missing my expert sniper specialist medal for SF, which I earned the other day.

    Re: Theater ribbons vs. Medals

it looks like your expert sniper did show up. it can take some time for any awards you get on the weekend to finally show up.

as for the army medals, its 50hrs time played in that army, so your stats are correct and you dont have enough time in yet. The ribbons are different, they are 50hrs time played in 'theater' - or total time played on SAS maps for the SAS ribbon. the SAS maps are: Night Flight, Warlord, and Ghost Town. if you look at your total time played on those maps, you now have over 50hrs, hence the ribbon. :p

highlight over the ribbons @ bf2player.com and you can see your time progress.

Yo....the ribbon hours are only part of the medal hours!!!! Read the fine print!!!
The ribbon hours are for hours in the "Theatre", which means you earn hours towards the ribbons for both teams that are engaged in the map, no matter what team you are fighting for.

For the medal ONLY the hours on that specific team count towards the 50 hours needed to earn the medal. I earned my ribbons and still needed twenty plus hours for the medal!!! Especially the Rebel Force since the only maps that count are Surge and Mass Destruct.

Hope this clarifies it.....keep at it and you will get the medal!
