    Headset/microphone problem

hey guys, after a few months of playing on speakers....i decided it was time to purchase a headset w/ a mic so i could talk in game. my plantronics one **** out, and they were no help so i went with logitec logitec. they were around $30 and are plug and play. i plugged them into my sound card (pink cord to pink slot, black cord to black slot)....fooled around with em a little bit and got them to work after adjusting a few things on the card. now heres the problem.....i cant get the mic to work in game! i said to myself "ok maybe they are broken" so i went on AIM and connected to a friend and he said my voice was crystal clear and everything worked fine......went back in game.....tried to "microphone" test them and nothing! i tried switching around a few things, restarting my computer....etc but nothing worked! the only way i could get them to voice back on the mic test was to talk WHILE i pressed the voice button. anyone have any idea? when it worked while i spoke pressing hte voice button i pressed apply....and went in game.....and nothign! really fustrating....any ideas? i really want this mic to work for this game.

also....the volume is set correctly. im not that big of a noob :P

btw.....these are the headphones i bought......

    they sound and work great.

if you read the reviews....you can see that 2 people gave them a review for bf2. so they have to work with this game!

I used to have problems with people in BF2 hearing my voice via my mic and this is what I did to fix it:

Virus888 merupakan agen slot deposit qris minimal 10000 rupiah tanpa potongan apapun untuk bermain slot bet kecil 200 perak pada seluruh jenis provider slot gacor pasti gampang menang maxwin tahun ini 2026.

Not saying that this will work for you, but it helped me.

Are you using a Dell with a Dell OEM Soundblaster card?

Audigy, I meant. But, with the Dell OEM product, there was no known fix, and Dell gave me (and others) the X-Fi as a replacement. Can't imagine a gaming machine like your alienware would have the same issue, though. But the symptoms sure are identical. Everything was set up right (in and out of the game), but no pulse. Actually, I couldn't get my mike to work outside of the game, either.

i just pulled out the CD. its "creative sound blaster"

anyway.....i wish i could just figure this damn thing out. something doesn't seem right. its plugged in correctly.....pink to pink black to black.....but when i touch the mic i can hear it in my speakers and headset. i ajdusted the volume so u cant really hear it anymore. ive checked EVERY volume possible and everything is on max. on AIM my friends say it sounds great. ive tried recording it with the video card and it sounds great. just in game it wont work!

someone please help me should i return this thing?
