Pwnage?

Whilst playing the other day, i got killed and someone said i got "pwned". What is this? My guess is that he spelt "owned" wrong.
Anyone?

I think you've answered your own question. Although many spell it wrong on purpose with the same meaning.

I believe that got started because the little kiddies couldn't find the O on the keyboard and they kept hitting P by mistake, you know because the are so "l33t" they dont have time to check if they spelled something wrong LOL

Pwned-its like teh P letter stands for "Perfect" So it would mean

"Perfect Ownage"

Instead, it said, so-and-so "has been pwned."

It basically means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation, especially by some god-like or computer-like force.

it probably started as a spelling mistake but tools who think they are sweet have transformed it into the above mentioned forms of the word. so now when every the insecure kiddies get a kill and feel special they claim "PWNED" although i must say i think its alot worse when they use the 0 for p0wned

Not at all, it came from Quake, before l33t sp33k
