The one and only (hopefully) Diary of a "n00b"

I finally woke up this morning after playing a few hours of BF1942 and CSS last night, and there was a light... a bright light coming from my basement/where my PC is. It was coming from a small plastic box... a box that said "Battlefield 2" on the front, and I realized ...

Why the **** haven't I been playing THIS one???

I loaded it up, registered for online play, and started out with a little single player, just to get used to controls, new stuff, etc. "not too bad" I think to myself.

It starts getting a bit too easy after... oh... 10 minutes (bots always suck). So i load up a 64 slot, 24/7 Karkand IO server. Infantry had always been one of my strongpoints... so why not.

I go MEC and spawn at Hotel, and get blown up by a hand grenade in the span of about 1/2 second. Unlucky...

I spawn same spot, with assault (can't go wrong with an automatic rifle) and continue to play for an hour or so.

I get that thought again... "Why the **** haven't I been playing THIS one???" and continue. I get sucked in, and by the time I know it I've been blasting away for 2 hours. I get a total score of about 30... :laugh: I also get owned by guys flying through the air, diving like dolphins, and unlocked guns.

I figured since football is out, and I've got plenty more time on my hands, I'll keep track of how bad and stupid I look until i become officially "un-nubed".

I'll keep ya guys posted.

also try the expansion "Special Forces" if you like infantry its up your alley.

Did you download 1.4, because i have not seen dolphin diving since 1.4, also unlock guns are not that much better than regular unlocks despite what you might think or hear. Some are a bit supperior, but is not like OMG is not fair.

P.S. I also hate nade spawmers.

I was up until 2 last night playing, addicting if I say so myself.

Anyway I started out on a Kark regular server, no IO., and I sucked it. I mean, I couldn't walk two feet without getting my *** blown off by artillery, grenades, or someone with a machine gun laying it down on our spawn.

The other thing that pisses me off is, why do people continue to punish you your teamkilling, when you obviously did it by accident. For instance...

I'm on USMC going towards the Hotel spawn, I see an enemy through a gap in the fence, and start firing, I miss...:laugh:, so I chuck a grenade through the gap, and immediately one of my teamates goes rushing through and gets his face blown off, and then he punishes.:wall:

I get away from that... and try out a Sharqi IO server, which I excel at. I got about 20 total points playing 4-5 rounds on the Kark server, and I got 25 in my first round playing IO on Sharqi. The Special Forces expansion is starting to look pretty good ...

I found the accuracy of the MG36 was MUCH better then the RPK or the M249. How long does it usually take until I can get an unlock? I got PFC last nightdoes that mean anything? And when I do get enough points for an unlock how do I unlock the unlock (lol).

PS: about the dolphin diving... I guess it isn't really "the" dolphin dive it used to be, but you can still go from running/standing to prone in almost no time at all, and have your gun ready immediatley.

He is playing IO. He has 1.4.

DONT play IO, if you want to learn this game well. Its a stupid dumbed down CS. Go play regular Kark, or Sharqi, or Mashtuur. If you want to learn jets and helis, go play wake.
