cant get sf to install

i cant get sf to install, i have installed bf2 and installed patch 1.4 full now when i try to install sf i get to choose the language for the installation then i get to choose "install" i then get the bf2 splash screen whit a small progress window wich appears for a second then poof thats it nothing it just quite

my spec are the following
athlon xp2400
1gig pc2700
radeon 9800pro
winxp pro sp2

Turn off any virus detection software and try again. Could be a bad disk or more possibly a dirty CD drive.

no anti virus is shutdown as for the cd it was previously use to install it and i had no problem with it and visually there is no sign of scratch or chip or other defect as for the drive it does it in both the dvd drive and the cd drive

Ye I need a new video card for SF to play on my computer so it could be computer problems with the computer.

could be the patch, have you tryed deleting everything and starting with a fresh install? can be a bit of playing around but when u install sf it also patches bf2 to be able to take it
make sure when u delete bf2 to also delete your docoments folder
