I have been looking for a game to play, and was pointed to this game, so I picked it up with the SO exp pack for $35.
My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5004WLMi, specs as follows:
1 GB (DDR SDRAM)
100 GB Ultra ATA 100 Hard Drive
15.4 in. WXGA TFT Active Matrix
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
AMD Turion 64 Mobile 1.8 GHz
Bus Speed 1600 MHz
RAM Speed 333 MHz
Installed Cache Memory 1024 KB
Graphic Processor SiS M760GX
When I try to play, the BF2 splash screen comes up, then goes black, then crashes back to the desktop. Is my video inadequate? Is there a way to get around this and play at a lower resolution? Everything else in my system is pretty up to snuff...
My desktop is an AMD Thoroughbred 1.7GHz (XP 2100+) on an Asus A7N8X Deluxe mobo w/ 768MB RAM, but my vid card is only a GeForce 2 MX400 that I put it in there back in '03, so the video card won't handle much more than surfing the net. I want to upgrade, but I want PCI-E, which means I have to buy a new motherboard, chip, and RAM too.
I'm installing the 1.4 patch right now, hopefully this might help.
Thanks,
Dave
Negative on the patch making it run.
