1.4 & AF problem (moans about having modified version of BF2?)

Hey dudes,

ever since 1.4 patch came out and I installed it, I havnt been able to play AF.

It loads the AF map as normal, but once client data is verified, it quits back to multiplayer screen and says

"you cannot play with a modified version of bf2, please revert back to the original BF2 version"

^^ which is complete BS because I have no mods installed.

So I downloaded AF via EA Downloader again and re-installed it (this time round 1.4 patch is already installed)

but it says the same thing.

Ive pretty much wasted £5.99 cos I cant play it.

I searched the forums but didnt see this mentioned.

anyone know how I can fix this?

Make sure you downloaded the FULL 1.4 patch and NOT the incremental. Since you've already reinstalled AF, I would just re-download patch 1.4 (even if you already have it, maybe something got F'ed up) and run it again. If that doesn't resolve your problem, then you may have to do a complete reinstall of BF2.

thanks.. i had the incremental so ill give that a shot

I done a full re-install, then re-installed AF, then updated to 1.4 FULL patch

and it works again
