Strangest problem! - no ctd

Hey guys cool forums, great info here.
But i have a bad problem thats soo frustrating and im completley clueless.
When i join a multiplayer server in bf2 i connect and everythings fine, no connection problems, but as soon as the kit selection screen comes up, my pointer refuses to move!!! so i can watch all the action in the background whilst i sit on the kit selection screen unable to do anything!Also the keybourd commands dotn work!! i cant bring up the menu via escape, nothing responds! i have to alt tab out and shutdown the process! this only started happening today and is very frustrating! ive already re installed to no avail. what is causing this bizarrre problem?!?!Thanks.

Is your keyboard plugged in?

Reset your controls to default.

dont alt tab, i have that problem every single time i join, just wait for a few seconds or so.
i wait a good 30 seconds before my pointer can move.
generally happens on really slow comps, such as mine.. (a laptop)

yeah resetting ur controls default will fix this problem
