  • What BF2 really needed... (1.41 perhaps EA?)

    Is a decent Infantry map with China in. For MEC we have Karkand, Sharqi and now Jalalabad.

    For China the best is probably Wake, but unless the US team are good and can actually cap a flag on land you're pretty much limited to Vehicles.

    1.4 came out and I remember the rumours of there being a new map. I heard it was a kick *** infantry map, then I found out it was yet another MEC map and I sighed.

    Plus all China maps are ridiculously over balanced.

      Never played it on Inf only, though I imagine it would be pretty boring.

      I meant wake is good as infantry when the US have some flags and your running around on the ground capping flags etc.

      With the introduction of IO, I get the feeling that EA didn't really think about it, as most of the maps that suit IO are US vs MEC.

        Well now that the "sun is setting" on BF2 (I'm not saying it's dead by any means, just that popularity is beginning to decrease), perhaps we'll see less of a fever for stats and ranks and a few good player-made map packs will pop up that will have what you're talking about.

          Not for me. I've got this far, I want General before I move to BF2142. I've wasted 700 hours of my life playing BF2 and I want the highest rank out of it before I move on. Sad I know. But I don't care.

                        This is what a few of us tried getting through to everyone. Why design a game mode that's only playable on 20% of the maps. The effort should have gone into a decent new game mode that can be played on all maps.

                        There are no China infantry maps because there are no urban China graphics in the games libraries. China is rural, and MEC is urban.

                          Yes, they will release a SERVER side (whatever it's called) patch. No game play changes.
                          I hope i'm wrong, there is still a lot of work to be done as far as game play goes.

                            i dont want a new map as much as i want some of the bugs fixed and maybe faster server browser and faster map loads like bf 2142 has

                              A point well presented and one that I didn't think about. Though I must say that Dalian 16 player map size is kick *** on IO mode. Shame that I always struggle to find a server.
