well about 8 months ago, i got so frustrated with getting killed by ****** campers, baserapers etc while I couldn't get more than 30 fps. So I decided to cheat. Downloaded a cheat, instant pb ban. I didn't think much of it because I had hated the game so much by now due to my fps and terrible graphics card.

Now before you start flaming me for cheating let me just say YES I know I was dumb, YES I know I was wrong, YES i got what i deserved so please don't flame me for cheating thats not why i'm here.

So now 8 months have passed and I bought a new graphics card(a 7800gtx :) ) and I couldn't wait to start raping in bf2 with decent fps. But, I had forgotten that I got banned

I read that there is something called a Punkbuster hardware ban. Does this mean that if you get banned once you can never ever play again on the same computer/ip? Just wondering before I go and buy a new copy of bf2.
And no, I would not cheat again. So please don't reply about my cheating and just answer my question thank you.

hard to tell lots of different ban types hardware, ip, cd key. try it out and see it'll prbly tell u.

In an old game like BFV or BF1942 it was only a ban from 1 server.

It depends on what kind of ban you've got.
GUID bans mean you must buy a new game or a new CD-key
Hardware GUID bans means you're screwed since your machine won't work with any PB-enable games, not only BF2 but all of them.

Your going to have to find out what type of ban you got and maybe even email PB about it. You may have gotten banned from just BF2 for good. If so, try BF 2142.

Try ringin up your ISP and get a new ip, worked for me when I was banned from BFV.

If he has a static IP, all he has to do is renew it in CMD prompt. But if it is a hardware ban changing you IP won't do jack.
