I used to play BF2. Along the way they released a patch that caused me to lose my entire internet connection after playing a while. I reinstalled my NIC drivers, BF2 several times, reinstalled windows, even tried a different motherboard with onboard NIC. Now, I purchased and installed BF2142 and I have the same problem.
This is the sequence of events when playing BF2 or 2142.
1.) I Logon and join a server.
2.) I play for maybe a hour, ushualy a little less than a hour.
3.) In the middle of playing, I get a error "Connection to server lost" or something.
4.) I close BF2/2142 and open my browser, no response.
5.) I try to ping my router, nothing.
6.) I reboot my computer and everything works again.
I play many games and this only happens with BF2 and BF2142.
