The game was meant to be fun the way it was originally developed. WITH vehicles.

Why can't people have adapted to the BF style of gameplay instead of changing the game into something it's not.
BF2 was NEVER designed to be vehicle-less.

EA/DICE are trying to plz as many people as possible and it has worked!
    Not really it didn't.
Instead it splintered the community and drove many people away from vBF2 because of EA's constant catering to the whiners.

TBH it seems the serial whiners in here are all the Tank, Heli and Jet whores who dont have as many people to spawn rape and camp.
This is exactly the anti-vehicle sentiment that I'm talking about.
You people can't handle defending yourself against vehicles (Even though DICE put in plenty but NOOOO...You can't get alot of points playing AT class...there's the Global Stats problem again) so instead you want to change the game to suit your anti-vehicle sentiment.

Re: Voting: The possability of disabling aircraft/helis on servers?

IO is NOT ruining BF2, there are plenty of both types of servers out there.
You guys can proclaim it is all you want, but it doesnt make it so.
I play both and am happy to have the option, it brought a bit of fresh air to a stale and limited map selection.
It also eliminates the usual 'third of the team on the runway' waiting for an Air asset .
After almost 650 hours as AT, out of a total of approx. 1500, it is a relief to not have to play that kit because no one else wants to on the original maps.

BTW...much to my dismay, you cant get above Col. as a groundpounder, Brig. Gen. requires 50 and 50 (hours) in chopper and jet...which is idiotic and just promotes more lines on the runway.

Hold on a minute...you're blaming the vehicles for idiotic self-serving players?
Wrong again my friend. Once again blame the stats system.
If people were just playing this game or fun and not points the 'runway' lines would not be nearly as much of a problem.

it brought a bit of fresh air to a stale and limited map selection.
Limited Map selection?? Are you nuts??
There were plenty of maps but once again, the stats come into play.
People disregarded certain maps because they were not good for scoring points.

You need to get you head out of the sand.
All the problems and nerfs and changed made to this game were a result of the crying point whores.

Well at least you're blaming the Stats again for this problem.
However...the 50 chopper/jet hours are required because guess what...there are vehicles in this game!!. That's how it was developed and that's how it should be played.

              Heavy Junk:
Is your "Stats" in your Signiture an indication of your game experience and fav. vehicle?? Because, yes vehicles(ecspecially air) attract 'idiotic self-serving players' like ants to honey and I never claimed the ranking system was'nt a major cause of generic point whoring. One of the points was Air vehicles dominate the maps and jets attack with immpunity.

Limited Map selection?? Are you nuts??

              HeavyJunk:
You are making the assumption that every one that likes the IO maps for getting points...wrong. Have you played IO ? Check the scores of the air players on the other maps. You read what you wanted from my previous post and disregarded other points I made. I mentioned I was sick of playing AT because you have a limited number of heavy vehicles on maps and IO was a nice change to not have to worry about that.
As far as I am concerned, promotions could be based on time played instead of score.

You need to get you head out of the sand.

              HeavyJunk:
No, IMO the point whores are the guys who constantly grab the air and heavy vehicles (Karkand). The air assets were too out of balance with the rest of the game. There are points whores in IO..aka nade spammers...worse is roof nade spammers but at least I have a chance to kill them.

Well at least you're blaming the Stats again for this problem.

Once agian, you are only reading what you want to make a point. I play both types IO and vehicle and yes stats whoring ruin a lot of the game play. But dont pretend that the air whores werent a big part of the problem..unbalanced and/or no effective counter...J10 - lousy AA- disparity in opposing pilots talent = domination to the ground troops.
I will repeat this ...I play both types of gameplay...I like IO because it allows a good inf vs inf fight. From what I have seen, there is very little point whoring going on, players just enjoying the fight.
There are enough servers of both types to accomodate both preferences in game play, so go play the type you prefer.

note: I screwed up the quotes..I put my name where i replied

I don`t mind tanks, but helis and jets are just f*cking annoying most of the times. Especially when you`re having a nice inf battle over a flag or something, then a jet comes and eithet TKs you all or takes out the whole opposing force.
                Yes, Im a groundpounder

"This game is arcade, never ment to be realistic," something, a lot of insta-proning, pee-shooter-gun loving peeps here love to say.

Tanks shouldn`t be removed though, cause I`ve seen what happens on IO servers. Mostly nade spam and sniper fest, atleast on Jalalalalad
There again, defending yourself against a tank is a *****, even when you`re AT.

That's so BS. I have 110 min and 9 rounds in Jalalabad. This means a rough average of 12 mins per round. I can safely say that most that I average 80/round. With this, I'd have around 6 SPM in Jalalabad. I'd say I am a not very skilled groundpounding so similar SPM's are not uncommon.

Now I have ~3.9 SPM in choppers. Sure that if I had always a good pilot I'd score much more than that, but that would not be realistic. Still I'd say it's quite rare to find this SPM in choppers. Same for jets, it's very rare to see pilots breaking 6 SPM.

On top of all this, choppers and jets do play the waiting game so it's not only about the time we have in the vehicle, but if you consider the time we waste waiting, getting TK-ed, etc. the real SPM is lower than that.

So yes, it is way easier to score in IO mode.

                      Absolutely.

I spend so much time waiting around or capping flags to get the helicopter that my SPM ends up being significantly lower than my actual performance. Isn't it great? hehehe

Sometimes it is easy to accummilate points in IO ..sometimes not, you are making a general statement based on a limited time, on one specific map.

My big question is why are all the air guys the ones bitching? Play the servers with air assets, there may be a few less ground fodder for you but there are plenty of servers out there.

It's ruining the game 'cause now most of the damn servers are Karkand and Jalalabad IO. Much harder to find other "standard" games with decent amount of players and different maps.

This is great if you like IO, but sucks for everyone else.

The Battlefield series (BF1942 & BF2) wasn't designed or promoted as IO. If it was, I wouldn't be complaining, but now they changed it radically, so I'm complaining, and so are lots of other folks.
