Voting: The possability of disabling aircraft/helis on servers?

    Hi all,
What do you guys think about this for BF2? Please vote.

    - maggot.se

    An extract from the voting-thread:
One of the latest patches made it possible for server-admins to disable
vehicles. A good idea, but I wonder what it would be if one modified this
one and added another check-box aswell, so it looked something like this:
    - Disable vehicles (land)
    - Disable vehicles (air)

The idea of disabling "air-vehicles" (all kinds of heli's and jet's) would
enable four (4) different ways of gameplay: All vehicles enabled, no land
vehicles, no air-vehicles and finally everything disabled (except the RIB:s
    off course).

This is ridiculous. The whole no-vehicles idea is ridiculous.
Come on, if you don't want air vehicles (or jets for that matter) go play BF2142 or CS.

      - Disable complainings (all chat)

Imo, 'No Vechiles' sucks, it's for ppl who hates getting owned by vechiles (lol?), or something. Heh. I don't like 'No Vechiles' at all - it's not a BATTLEFIELD, it's Counter-Strike!
The real Battlefield 2 is with vechiles!

Wow, I actually find that I like IO in small urban maps 16 player size. But it is pointless in larger maps like Oman. I mean, it is a map that is geared to having air support!

DiCE really screwed up by not giving the AT kit a stinger. I would love to read the memos on why this never showed up.

It's the lamest damn thing that people can't play a BF game without trying to change the game to something else.

It's because the large majority of people left in BF2 are the point-whoring CS players that helped ruin BF by crying for an option to remove vehicles.

I wish people would stop trying to change BF into a different game to satisfy their game play preference and start learning how to play the game as it's development was intended.
You don't' see CS players trying to add vehicles to CS do you??? No. Because if they want vehicles they come here. (And try to change this one :wall: )

It's funny how no IO mod was ever made for BF1942 or BFV. Maybe because the infantry had more of a chance against vehicles. The AA guns in 42 actually worked and didn't highlight on a pilots screen, the NVA had stingers on the maps that needed them in BFV. Plus they added quad 50 Cal's on maps that needed it. A panzerfaust could make a tank cook with one shot to the rear in 1942. Now take BF2. A pilot can tell what AA gun is a threat and bomb it before a good lock and shot can be made. And when the good lock and shot is made the missiles are worthless. Two AT rockets to the rear of a tank and it might start cooking.

Now don't play the teamwork card. I know teamwork can defeat things in BF2. The problem is you need half your team to take out one tank. It should be more like one tank can be defeated by one guy. Two or three tanks and then you will need team work to defeat their teamwork. But needing teamwork to defeat one lone wolf vehicle whore is wrong.

While i do agree with you on some things. Here's my awnser to you. Armor on tanks back in the day was not all that. Jet back in the day had no computer, it was all analog hense they could not detect anything coming at them or scan(radar) down below for possible AA. The current BF is set on 2007 if i am not mistaken. Everything has evolved since 1942. Like i said i do see your point on some things, but look at it from the technology point of view.
