Ram Question

Hi, rite now i have two 512MB DDR Ram and i'am don't know if my motherboard can support other more faster Ram's like DDR2,DDR3 etc. This is my motherboard spec.

Main Memory: Dual DDR 400

• Supports four unbuffered DIMM of 2.5V DDR SDRAM.
• Supports up to 4GB memory size without ECC.
• Supports Dual channel DDR333/400MHz.

download CPU-Z from google and it will tell you what motherboard you have, then you can find out more,

Yea i have that CPU-Z already but i just wanna know if my motherboard can support DDR2 or more =/

if you are saying it already has DDR ram then no, no way will it support DDR2, youll need to buy a new one to use DDR2, the pin layout is different for one, 184 pin vs 240 pin, it simply would not fit.

There are a few obscure models that supported both but if youd bought one youd know it.

A gig of what your using is good, but if you wanna see a little bit of difference, get another gig. You wont see a huge difference, but it will help.

sry a bit off topic, but is it true that if u have a 32bit processor, u can only support up to 4gb of ram?

Not sure, but 4 gigs is a waste, unless your graphic designing etc. I cant think of any programs right now that use 2 gigs. Most I ever use is 1.7 gigs at any one time.

I heard windows cannot support any more than 3gb of RAM anyway, and it can actually cause stability issues.

I found 2gb to be a very nice improvement, but 3gb was no better.

asrock has a board that supports both ddr2 and ddr and both agp and pcie.
