    The Fighting Ullteppe

Hi there, after working on this movie for a while now, I can at last declare that it's finished. Ladies, I bring you

    The Fighting Ullteppe

5 mbit download: The Fighting Ullteppe

100 mbit download: The Fighting Ullteppe <----- Right click and save as

The movie is 11 min long, and is most likely my first and last movie. Reason is that this movie took way more time to accomplish than expected, and in the future I doesn't want to spend this much time on a movie.

Well, hope you enjoy the movie, like with all movies there will be those who like and those who don't, please tell me what you like and don't like in the movie. :)

Dare I even ask your ping on that or "those" servers? because all your shots were based of direct hits so that means your ping had to be at most 10ms and less. Great movie, nice editing. It just lacked in Graphics wise but you can't help that so other than that it was very good, nice job.

      Thank you! :)

Well, sry if i disappoint you, but my ping is (unfortunately) not lower than 35-40. Still fully possible to take direct hits, although when the choppers are rolling or is in a hard strafe it's getting a bit trickier.

Crazy good. I loved the Gladiator ending at the end <3 Kinda sucks you used staged shots and bots... but still good.. it was kind of jumpy at times.. probably because you slowed the footage down. That was a nasty solo shot on Kubra when you fell backwards down the wall.. that was just awesome lol. You can even see the smoke trail from the other missile going over you.

          Thanks

You're so right. Havent figured out how to use the camera track function to record smooth clips in slow motion yet, but I'll think of something if I'm making a numer 2.

i liked it, did you set your gamma up high in order to see the crosshair on the tv easier? oh and you can use Timewarp in AE and that works good for slowing down your video

Awesome vid !! Good work and pretty shots.

About the editing, how did you make that video play in the scope of the sniper ?
And how did you do your beginning intro ? It reminds me of the beginning of the movie Da Vinci Code

                  Nice work again
btw, which software(s) did you use ?

i would say either battlelauncer or battlerecorder.

and he notes all the programs at the end of the video, thats what credits are for:)

The sniper thing was done in After Effetcs Pro 7.0. Scaled the clip to fit the scope, and made it match for every frame. Sure, takes time, but is by all means worth it. If you have AFX I can tell you in more detail if you like??

The intro is also done in AFX, using it's basic 3D features. Just found a pic of a wall, put on the texts, and animated the camera and the light.

As scrogathon said, all the programs I used are listed in the credits, but anyway I used:

Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0 - Main editing
After Effects Pro 7.0 - Animations, some effects
                      VirtualDub - Compression to Xvid
BattleLauncher - Handling and launching the .bf2demo files. Used it to capture the 3. person clips.
Fraps - Recording the in-game material.
Hamachi - Setting up LAN's across the internet, so I could record the demos using my pc as server.
Ventrilo - Communication with the other actor.
VLC/Media Player Classic - Watching the rendered test clips.

i would just put that clip of you getting shot over the sniper clip layer, lower the opacity to see what you were doing, make a mask around the snipe scope, and fir that layer of you getting shot and just put it in

Thx , sry I always forget to check the credits.

Anyway here's what is avaible to me for video editing/compositing :

                          Abode After Effects 7.0
                          Discreet Combustion
                          Sony Vegas

I can do some little thing with combustion but I really dont know anything in AE. Im practicing my modelling these days, gotta try to make some compositing one day :) But nice movie again.

Just a question : when I play a video in AE, it lags. The video goes very slow and laggy , especially when there's two. Imagine if I add effects ..
                          is it normal ?

Yes, you have to render it before you can watch it in realtime. Press 0 on your numpad. :)

Yeah, that's the easy way of explaining what I did. Problem was that i was also moving across the screen, so the masks are animated too. So it has to be done FBF.

Nice editing but the content was okay.

The sniper part reminds me of the "An American Baby In Iraq" movie.
