Routed Pcs server connection HELP!?!?!

I have been playing Bf2 for some months quite happily. Recently my brother has bought a new pc and we have set up internet access from my pc to his pc through a router. We were hoping that we both could play online at the same time. However servers will only let one of the pcs logon at any one time. Either he can join and i cant or i can and he cant. Im running 2.2meg broadband. Is this the problem or something else

Do you both have seperate copies of the game, this is required so you both can play at the same time.

I would personally think it is EA just acting against the "piracy"" :P only allowing one IP or something... anyway I am probably wrong.

We play frenquently 3 on a router without a problem. Are you sure you have 2 copy a battlefield with different cd key?

You both should be able to play online at the same time just not on the same server. The server will check the CD-key to make sure there are none that are the same.

My nephew and I do this all the time. If you want to play together without purchasing a new copy, I would suggest the singleplayer bot mod. (do a search on the forms. theres a whole section dedicated to it)

Yeh we both have separate copies of the game. Prob appears to be that if one of us has successfully accessed a server the other cannot get on the same or any other server, and we really want to shoot each other!!!!

haha I would TK my brother and stuff, or create a new account like I did on XBL and 'own' him and all you can here is like something hitting plasterboard tehe and a big noise with something along the lines of "arfgyou****sonofa***igonna***getyouyoumot******** *yourgonn****" etc the usual its really good fun :)

Does anyone think this could be a ping problem? Ive only got 2meg broadband and the router will slow connection for both pcs. I used to run at about a ping of 40-60 but have noticed anything from 140 - 350 ping rates.

If i upgraded to a faster internet connection would that sort this out or am i missing something???

Well... could just be a router problem :S, wireless... mind you since I have had a router my DL speed has decreased a ADSL modem is best I had 2.0 MB all the time now I get about 0.2
