Memory error fixed with BF2142?

ok.. So for the longest time I've had a memory leak error with BF2 .. I get to play about 30-60 minutes before the memory leak will eat the system resources to a point where the machine grinds to a halt, thus forcing a power cycle.

I even got EA's tech support involved and posted messages on here.. no help.

I replaced RAM, Motherboard, and rebuilt the OS.. still same issue.

never was able to chase this one down.

I skeptically bought BF2142 because I've always been a big fan of the battlefield series.

And guess what.. NO ISSUES TO REPORT WITH BF2142.. Plays flawlessly on my PC.

So.. I wonder if there will be a mod that people will play like point of existance for BF2142 that will use modern day combat equipment.

I always liked the modern day stuff since Desert Combat & POE for BFV.

I really like BF2142.. but still want to play with modern day equipment.. (which is why I was so hopeful for BF2)

Well, I tried to get help with my BF2 problem here so I can actually play the game..

but, no one was able to help on here, or from EA themselves..

I'd be happy to post whatever info you need, directx or otherwise to see if you can see something.

So, rather than saying.. oooh. your pwned.. how about helping out someone who would rather be playing BF2 than BFwhateverelse?

That's interesting BF2142 didn't have the memory problem. They definitley messed something up with the BF2 1.4 patch. Plain and simple!

I upped my ram to 3GB but friggen WinXP won't recognize it. (Used the 3gb switch in the boot.ini file). It's amazing what lengths we go to just to enjoy a little gameplay with BF2.

I've exhausted all my options thus far so all there is to do now is wait for the next best thing. Starts with a "C".

Actually, I played BF2142 today for a couple hours.. at least I got a couple hours in before the memory leak killed the machine again.

So, unfortunately, it does happen with BF2142.. just not sure why I can play it longer than BF2.. still.. not sure what is up, but it's sure frustrating.

Memory leak? If you got new RAM, that shouldn't be a problem..
