    Connection Problem..

    'lo..

I'm having a connection problem for some time now..

When I start up BF2, join a server, it loads the map etc. fine.

Then when I have to select my kit, it says "There's a problem with your connection".. This is for every server, (1.0).. I am sure the server is on line (it's my own server) because I can connect to it with rcon tools.

So, I hope someone can help me..

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Connection Problem..

Could you include some more specific information like are you using a router? Your now describing it very unclearly..

Also you've got Patch 1.4 full installed right?

      Re: Connection Problem..

No. I have no patches installed, I'm running Bf2 1.0...

      As for the modem..

It's a standard delivered one by the provider, it includes a switch for 4 network users,

GIGASET SX551 WLAN dsl is at the back of it..

        Re: Connection Problem..

Well ok but why don't you install the Patches then? Well ok It could be your firewall/scanners turn them off whilst playing and see if it makes a difference. I haven't encountered this problem yet don't know a lot about it.

        I'll try and help you.

          Re: Connection Problem..

I didn't install the patches because, at first 1.3 didn't work, when 1.4 came out it worked. but me and my friends kept playing 1.0 because we find it more fun...

and all my firewalls are off... =/

            Re: Connection Problem..

Ah that's too bad man.. I haven't had such a problem myself so I don't know anything about it and it seems we've already have eliminated everything that could be it? Well there must be something that is causing this but what.

I guess you aren't in for a re-install of Windows. That would go too far. Though I advise too reinstall it twice a year if you download and install much games.

Sorry man I'll go and look deeper into this for you.

Well, actually I just did a full windows reinstall yesterday. I thought that would solve it, well.. no way. It didn't... It has to be the provider/modem, we recently got a new one and we were having problems with it before.. But just internetting works, I can't connect through BF2142 Demo either.. =/

Although at an other pc on the network my little brother can run BF1942.. I don't get it.

                Re: Connection Problem..

Okay. also having a similar problem.

Played BF2 for quite awhile getting online for multiplayer no problems.

Stopped playing BF2 for awhile and recently started playing again. Nothing changed. No new hardware, no new software firewalls etc. Was on patch 1.22 couldn't get in.
When I went to login for duty at the very begining it would say connecting to server and then lock up. I figured that I probably didn't have the newest patch. So i downloaded newest patch 1.4 full version and installed it.
The game shows that as the version installed. Still have exact same problem.

Firewall is disabled. Nothing new. Why after several months can I not play online. Is BF2 mad at me for ignoring it for so long? I've found the error of my ways and am trying to come back.

Fast Dell system good graphics card adn all that. Cable connection. Why would the game suddenly go belly up like this?

PLEASE HELP! There are people out there who need killin..

                  ^^^
try deleting ur account from ur computer and retrieving it again

                  delete:
                  C:\Documents and Settings\NAME\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles

and when bf2 boots up, retrieve ur account and it should connect to account server a tiny bit faster

make sure u kno ur password/sn b4 doing this but u can always retrieve that info over @ teh gamespy website

                    disable EAX in audio option.

if it doesn't work disable VOIP too.

if that doesn't fix it then I don't know
