driving it is easy enough with a stick but youll have to make permanent changes to gun with the stick too, meaning aiming with the stick when on the ground (ugh).... but I think this sort of thing perhaps could be done with joy2key that some people use?

sorry I cant explain more, I dont use it, I just know from the controls editing I do that it cant be done like that without making all aiming the same, which would suck.

This thread http://www.totalbf2.com/forums/showthread.php?t=72603 in the other forum is where the j2k wizards hang out around these parts - they might be able to help you with a custom profile.

What you would do is get J2K and make the joysticks axes emulate the mouse...

So it's not like it would "replace" the mouse, it's like a secondary mouse.. and it also wouldn't mess with your jet/heli settings either.

But ok here is how you do it.

Download J2K (google it, it's probably the first site.. you'll find it)

When you open it, you see

          LEFT
          RIGHT
          UP
          DOWN

Lets start with left. (left is "left" on the X axis)

Right click left, and click configure this button. There are a bunch of tabs at the top. Click the mouse tab.

Where is says cursor movments, that is what you'll be using. So, this is for "left"... so find the horizontal scroll bar, and then adjust it to however you want. The farther you get from 0, the faster the mouse accelerates, and the higher the speed and sensitivity..... etc.

I have mine set for -50 for mouse look for choppers and that type of thing.. But for actually using it to play... I'd say 60-70... I'm not sure though.

So, since you are doing "left", you will move it to the left from 0, which would go into the negatives. Say you wanted -60, just move it to -60... now you are done with "LEFT".

Now hit OK and do the same thing for all the other axes. "RIGHT" will be a positive number above 0, up will be positive, down will be negative... etc.

          Make sure all the numbers, whatever you pick, are the same.. like {60,-60,60,-60}

          Hopefully that helped..

            Re: joystick for tank

i did this with my xbox360 controller, i was playing a lot of BF2: Modern Combat on the 360 and got used to the controls, it seemed to work ok and with a bit of tweaking i got it near perfect. Then the problem, for some reason all the weapon emplacements (50. cal, USS Essex, blackhawk guns, ect) would have to be moved and fired with the control pad. So it became too much hassle for me to use.

                    That's quite pointless ^^^

Just set your mouse sensitivity for land vehicles up, and you don't have to move the mouse a lot to turn.

trouble with that is when it comes to chopper gunning a small movement of the mouse makes a big movement on the gun making it uberhard to hit anything.
