    I demand authorti........... pleaseeeeeeee?

For the the amount of hours I've played I have played very few games with teammates who want to follow instruction. As a commander or squad leader I want some Authorti;as Cartman would say. So for example I'm playing karkand, I'm commander and other team is heading towards trainwreck, I command to defend trainwreck and of course I get negative, negative, negative, negative, negative from everyone. !@#$ it @#!$^$! listen to me, we will lose the game with you do not defend, again there is negative, negative, negative from once again everybody, but maybe one. Does this burn your balls or what? If anyone knows a server that is squad friendly, tell me about it.

Its a game, nobody respects anyone, because they think they are so good behind the keys, not showing their true identity. IRL it would be different.

Use VOIP and start abusing squadleaders until they start toeing the line.

Just make your own squad, then start inviting people, and kick the people that work with your group.

You should call the police if that happens again.

                  lmao yeah.

I've been playing wake a lot lately because I wanna hone my attack heli skills so I usually just join whatever squad my gunner is so I can talk with him.

When I used to play kark (and I mean it was the only map I played lol) I'd always make a squad and call it "microphone" by doing that a lot of guys who also had mics would join my squad. I find people who have mics take the game more seriously and are willing to co-operate a lot more.]

When commander if I need someone to defend somewhere I don't tell them all to do it, they'll just shrug it off and think someone else will. Pick one squad, maybe two but try not to outnumber the enemies too badly and then spot the enemies that are going for it. If you can then place a UAV when they get close too.

well for starters i think the ppl will sort of work in a form of supply and demand thread... so if there is no prob there, there is no prob. very much like if its here, its here. i kinda follow this thread until one occasion, when the enemy has being winning the map in karkand more than a few times. so i decided to plug the holes they have being making use of(which i have just found out) and if they are fast enuf, i spot them so the others can clean it up for mi. next time try to do tis at the rite time, preferably after u have done a uav. i once had a commander who keep spaming orders at mi to attack non-cap bases so half of the time i am reject his order while i was plugging holes at karkand, lesson of the day? give orders at the rite time...
                    btw welcome to total bf2...

Let them know if the enemy is heading towards an undefended base and can tell them to go there but at the end of the day it's a game, i will sometimes follow a commanders orders, if they are any good at their job, but commanders that tell you to go somewhere and then start "you have you're orders soldier" when you don't comply are arseholes!
Or when you're at the hotel and they send orders to "get repairs to this point" which is at the cement factory, oh and im spec ops!! (happened about 2 games ago!!!) don't know what theyre doing.
I can see your argument, good commanders will be listened to more often, but there's too many bad commanders so people don't listen

I will follow orders to an extent. The problem that I come across is that most of the time I will get orders that tell me to go attack or defend all the way across the map while I am in pursuit of some enemies trying to take a flag that is close by, or I am close to getting to an enemy flag to cap.

Also, I am typically a lot more likely to follow orders if the commander is using voip to communicate with the squad leaders.

                          Re: I demand authorti........... pleaseeeeeeee?

I try to follow orders as much as I can. I like to squad lead, and that is part of that job. Plus it alleviates me of making strategic decisions at every capture or loss of a spawn. Sometimes I hate the "what's the best thing to do now" desicions.

But, I often run into point and click commanders though (of which I am guilty of also).

A spawn point goes white , attack it. A spawn is capture, move on to the next. They are entirely reactionary in thier commands, and never think to put a purple shield up.

It begins to become a pointless round of musical chairs, in which the winner is deteremined by who doesn't have a place to sit, and not enough tickets to find a chair.

                          For Instance:

I always go for a spawn on the other side of the river at the start of Karky. Especially on a new load with no delay, my guys join me, so it's as if the entire squad has the speed of my computer. It's an advantage and we use it. It puts an organized squad quickly, deep in enemy territory.

Ive often taken GateHouse (32 man version?) and started destroying assets before some one steps up to the table and decides to command, and what's his first command?

Send my squad to try and take Hotel? Along with 2 other squads. Some times I do it, and what generally happens is a single player from the opposing forces is able to slip in and take GateHouse back, thus enabling assets for their commander using the least ammount of resources to do so (the one man).

                          It's infuriating.

But the reverse can happen. Iv'e taken TV Station and held it, but if the opposing force doesn't use manpower to take it back and appliesthose troops to fighting it out ticket for ticket, my entire squad is "out of the mix". I've actually sent them into battle and have seen the round start to go our way because of it.

I make the assumption that the commander has a better veiw of the "big picture", and has a plan. I follow those orders, unless I feel they are a severe detrement to possibly winning the round.

I know most don't want to go across the map to defend a flag, I wouldn't, but after i'm blown up after the 6th grenade and i'm dead, i'd be happy to spawn to the flag that needs defending, but of course there is the long walk back.

Had a great squad game last night on UTAC. Our commander was actually commanding, squad leaders were listening and commanding their squads. It's unbeliveble how fun this game is when you have a team that is working together. We were owning the hell out of the other team. Mind you when I first joined in last night it was total chaos, everyone doing whatever they wanted. In the secound round of ORR it started to click. I think that once the players realize that you have a compident commander and SL's, they will start to follow orders and work together. BTW, you can rack up some serious points when playing this way.
