Let me get this straight (Demo Recording)

I just recorded my first demo (on singleplayer) and I am HAPPY!

Just thinking, is recording demos possible on multiplayer? ( i wouldnt be creating this thread, if it werent for me and my wireless interent)

COs i heard that you cant, but people have videos of themselves, cos they are in 3rd person view. Or are those LAN games?

I just need a VERY VERY VERY detailed clarification (cos i am slow )

    THANX A LOT!

Yes if you host your own server, or the server has battlerecorder.

          ok.

I know this is off topic, but just one question
i have battle launcher, which helps convert the file into AVI.
But how do i convert into AVI in the 3rd person view, it only records the movements i did, i cant use the "Q" thing while in the conversion process...

          thanx

Battlauncher is just a fancy front end for the Battlerecorder feature, so any video captured with it should be in 3rd person already, like the demos. I haven't used it in a while, but at some point during the process you lose the HUD, and have to know which key commands control what in order to manipulate it, such as the 1,2,3,4,5, controlling video speed etc....

            Personally I just open C://Program Files/EA GAMES/Battlefield 2/Mods/bf2

Then open the GameLogicInit file with notepad and add...

            gameLogic.enableVoHelp 1
            gameLogic.supplyDropHeight 50
            gameLogic.supplyDropNumSecsToLive 300
            renderer.drawNameTags 0 <---this line

Then start up BF2, start the Battlerecorder file, and in the ~ (ingame console) type: renderer.drawHud 0

The file you edit, removes the nametags, the command you enter in console removes the HUD. You have to remove the line you added to the game con file before you can play on line again.

Watch the video a few times, figure out what you want to film, which angles etc...crank up Fraps and film away. Use Premiere Elemenets, MovieMaker, or something to edit, and then compress it and host it somewhere.

The sever needs to have battle recorder enabled and properly configured. Unfortunately most servers don't have BR setup correctly so even though it may appear to have BR when it comes time to download the BR file through the in-game community tab, it will return an error.

Our server has BR properly enabled. We store 100 BR files, so make sure you don't leave it for 3 or 4 days before you decide to download the BR file because it may have been over-written by then. After you have finished a gaming session for the day, then download the BR files on the same day to ensure you get your files.

Our server info is below in my sig.
