Game Crashing to Desktop - Using Nvidia Geforce 4200 128mb LOOK

Hi.

COULD THIS BE THE REASON MY GAME WONT START AND KEEP CRASHING TO DESKTOP, AS IM USING A NVIDIA GEFORCE 4200 128MB, I THINK IT MAY BE TOO OLD.
I HAVE TRIED MOST OTHER IDEAS AND NONE WORK.

The Geforce 4000 series is not compatible with BF2. There was a patch that let you run it with that card, but it looked crap. You need to upgrade.

and what do you think the chances are of this working if i upgrade, as alot of people do have compatable cards but still have crash issues?

should this card be ok?

I have a Nvidea card 128 7400 and it does the same thing...it crashes on start back to the desktop? WTF? I'm running 1.5G of ram an 80 G hard drive....why does mine keep crashing?

the way i interperate it is with nvidia cards the first number is the series number and the second is how well it will perform ie 7400 is an ok general card but 7800 is top of the range 7 series card made for those who really want perfection in there high graphics gameplay, ontop of that there is the GT and GS also having different pipelines causing faster GPU speeds ... this is only a guess from me im not an expert so if anyone who knows really can reply if this is right or not, thanks

I have a NVIDIA Geforce 7900 GS 256mb, 2gig ram, 250gb hard drive, 3192.3ghz viiv dual core processor. Why do I crash to Windows?

4200 is way below the system requirements no matter what you do to it.
