Actually they didn't nerf proning, but getting up with prone though I really didn't see a point to that bit

Question: Do you want a new patch because of the prone/ctrl? At least I don't and I wouldn't appreciate it if they changed the game again for the 10th time.

Stop patching and listen very closely to the community. That's what they've should've done but no ignorant EA/DICE didn't and fuxxored up this game. I still like it that's why I bought this game it's just that patches made this game unplayable and I don't want to play a game where I can make a cup of coffee before I get up from prone position.

I'll probably won't buy any games from EA but that's probably maybe they'll once make a good game and got smarter. But 'till that day I'll not buy any games from EA.

EA did listen to the community. The community complained about the noobtube, the guns on the Blackhawk, shooting and jumping, TKs from mines and claymores, etc etc etc. The result was patches.

Agreed. I left BF2 originally because the bunnyhopping and prone-diving antics were out of control. I was glad to see the changes and returned back and overall I'm happy with the game. It doesn't mean that improvements can't still be made, and I certainly don't want to be considered a whiner just because I offer suggestions as to how the game can be improved

Actually, the problem is not if I can aim or not. It's how diving to prone seems to be superior to someone already prepared, aimed, and shooting at you with controlled bursts. It has to do with the person diving's aim. Not mine.

I'm saying there is no delay to when they shoot, and their accuracy is actually boosted diving to prone... Interesting.

In real life, you can fire your gun after going to prone, but you won't have much accuracy. Try 'bellyflopping' to the ground while holding a gun, (or even a hockey stick) and see how uncomfortable it is.

In Army Cadets (lol, long ago), I learned the 'salt-and-pepper' manouever, which basically has you and your teammates crossing open areas, running alternately and diving to prone, then getting up running a bit more and diving to prone again. This was to minimalize you as a target in open ground, but allow you to travel fast. The alternate team member doing opposite of what you are doing helps confuse whoever is targeting you (in theory).

That being said, BF2 is not RL, nor is it anywhere close to realistic. I just wish they made the game at least a little more believable.

Like I said, I shoot in controlled bursts, etc. It's not error on my part (though I tend to shoot center mass from habit and RL training).

Sadly, yes I do go prone a lot, but when I do, I find that people actually light me up quicker. I see a difference from the patches. I sucks too, but hey, it gets people to stand-up and fight like men.
Yeah, I usually use sprint to boggle and confuse, not a fan of hopping around, unless it gives me that extra boost of speed when I need it (like jumping around a corner).

Shooting at bunnyhoppers is hard, and it does work for them to buy time, and it is frustrating, but I can deal with that (and have). It's just once they dive to prone and kill me with ease that's when I say "OMFG" lol.

In realife if you shot after hitting the dirt you would be as likely to shoot your buddy as much as your target.

In the real world you don't jump on your stomach to prone.

It's Knees, butt of weapon/elbows, chest, then aim.

                It's the opposite getting up.

There should be a delay when you prone and get up.

Re: Jump/Dive -> Prone still accurate

It's a joke now. In all the bf games, never you saw such prone fest as in BF2. They completly ruined it. Proning should be for long range firefights or ambush or for defensive position. In BF2 proning has dumbed down gameplay to an all out 'jump to belly' war. It gone so far I adapt my style to it. Rockets in the face, duck for cover and finish him off, easy headshots with cover of teammates. You name it, the point is these noobs only prone and prone like there's no freaking tomorrow. Prone at my feet, dude, you're badass !!!
The new mod POE has really powerfull guns but still you see many prone in close combat etc. It's a joke. Thanks Dice, you noobified a lot of people.

Yeah sure, the game don't need to be realistic. That's why I love it so much, semi-arcade dogfighting, fast paced squad teamwork and vehicles. But don't push it, the game still looks realistic so it should at least behave a little like it.

Oh and the fixes they implement. What a complete waste, it made the rolling over slower which looks completly ridiculous. You see the guy rolling and you already get a shot in the head during progress. Overall the combat movement has been made boring. While no such thing was needed.
Now ofcourse you got this people that whine about supposedly whiners, hey you nerfed my game. Nerf got a whole new meaning in bf2 sadly in a bad way.

lol.. I think that is the problem watch Clan Matches and you'll see that in 90% of the cases the one who is prepared and who will see the enemy first and shoots him wins.

I agree that it's weird to see players jumping around on their stomach's which of course should be fixed but they fixed it in a unaccaptable way.

And EA doesn NOT listens to the community.. Look at the J-10, Claymores, Patches it explains it all!

The way proning is now and the delay they added. You can actually have the upper hand when proning in a firefight while the other guy was already doing that. Dodging bullets with the delays plus having the advantage changing stance and getting headshot accuracy. So skill is not the dominating factor in here but pure weak game mechanics or just bad balance. It's all the same for me.
Knowing this I also wait till my opponent is going prone before I go prone and I will take the most advantage out of the silly prone.
But I rather make them go hit the ground in the middle of an open area. Then cover and make them wheep first on the ground. Then stand up and my crosshair will be fixed on his head.

Re: Jump/Dive -> Prone still accurate

                          I'm never wrong.

Proning has advantages, as does crouching and staying standing. I personally use all three but I do find proning works the best against newbies.

Proning has the advantage of giving you a boost to accuracy and reducing your profile but the disadvantages are that 1) you become very vulnerable to nearby grenades 2) you become very vulnerable to snipers 3) you become very vulnerable to the n00b tube 4) you become very vulnerable to AT rockets 5) you are more likely to be randomly headshotted when facing a skilled opponent. All of these disadvantages are the result of your complete loss of evasive movement and that is key balancing factor surrounding prone. I'd agree that prone is overpowered only in the event that a player in a prone could move just as fast as a standing player... but they can't.

Similar pro/con lists can be generated for both standing and crouching and thus I consider the various stances balanced. The only people complaining are the people who lack the fine motor skills and reflexes required to quickly target a player who has dropped to a prone and return fire for easy headshots on a stationary target.

All of the best players will agree with me and if you look at competitive level BF2 players you'll notice they prefer crouch over prone because it gives the accuracy boost but doesn't leave them wide open like prone does.

A very good demonstration of the usage of crouch and the superiority to be prone can be viewed @ http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...20992601241877

Re: Jump/Dive -> Prone still accurate

Yes, thanks for the link. I've seen this vid already and I saw nothing new first thing I watched it. Duck and cover is what I constantly do to counter proners.
But you have to watch more closely. He only use duck when he is behind cover. Every time he attacks without cover near him, he will go prone. So he knows fully well like me that prone is too effective. You see him prone close by his opponent and I think that is not right, the proportion and all.

Sorry but you should see that proning is way too overly used. And I don't care that few good players don't need to depend on it so heavily. It doesn't take away that every player you encounter will more likely then not go prone in a firefight.

And I was thinking something else too. Many people keep hammering that the game is arcade. I think they really miss all the realistic approaches. I could name something simple as prone to be already a realistic gameplay element.

Counter strike doesn't have prone or UT. And guess what, AA and COD has it. Games that are more directing towards realism. And I think whenever you include a realistic feature it has to be just that, with realistic elements that come hand in hand. Prone ideally is something you use behind cover and in long range fire fights. If you're using it to effectivly kill someone at his feet. Then something is wrong imo.

The game should reflect some skill but everyone just prones out in the open and become sitting ducks. So proning now encourage people to play bad really.
If it was implemented correctly then it would be nice sign that you better not prone in every single firefight. Now they just don't care, they do it every time. And if they might happen to get killed in progress they won't consider using other ways. Nope, cos proning is too effective as it is now.

Ah well, I had enough complaining about it. Only thing I have to add is, I liked the previous BF games better. There it was not such issue.

Bottom line is that prone is not a godly stance that will suit every scenario. If it was then it would be overpowered but it's not. I get a lot of my kills crouching and a lot of my kills standing and strafing. You seriously underestimate how important movement, jumping and sprinting are to surviving situations that arise when you're playing infantry. When you're prone you lose all of that critical evasive movement and it makes you very vulnerable. Of course you get improved accuracy and a smaller profile in prone but if it wasn't for those two factors prone would be virtually useless. I use every trick in the book when it comes to infantry movement and I never hear people complain about my jump proning but rather people seem to complain my sprint chain bunny-hopping (which is one of my favorite movement techniques and makes me virtually impossible to hit).
