    Hi All.

Then When I Go Into Start>eagames>bf2 And Click It The Battlefield 2 Loading Box Thing Pops Up In Windows Then The Screen Goes Black Then Just Returns Back To Windows Again With No Error Message Or Owt.
Please Help, I Have Already Searched Forums But Cannot Find Anything.

You should get a 6800GT/x800 Pro or better. they are on ebay for around $100 now.

Happened to me once before, was quicker to reinstall + patch then to try and figure out whats wrong.

check ur firewall, or av that running in the background....it was the cause for me. Allow access for bf2.exe....
                  try that

Re: Bf2 Wont Start!! - Please Help Some1!

has anyone found a reslove for this? I have been playing for a while now, had the screen Error bug but got it fixed through EA. Now I have the loading up, black screen back to desktop. WTH? No changes.....no problems with game play.

                    Specs: plenty for bf2
VGA 6800 gt : drivers have not changed in 4 weeks...so no update screw ups.
kills me...I submitted a request to EA....which usually good about responding. No answer yet.
I already used the Manual method from these forums...(thanks) to remove all bf2. I reinstalled. Restarted. Installed patch 1.3. Restarted. Installed incrimental 1.3-1.4. Restarted. Launched game.......same dumb black screen to desktop crash.
any advice so I can play this Rainy weekend?....

try the full 1.4 patch instead of the incrimental one, solved it for me.

                        fellas...
After many efforts of many things to get bf2 back up, I was resolved to completely uninstall all my Forceware drivers for nVidia. Restarted. Downloaded the latest, October release forceware drivers...(again from the exact same nVidia site as previously). I installed them. Restarted. Whhhaaallaaa....I am back online with bf2.

You have to delete the folder that stores your video setting from when you last play BF2. I believe is on my documents/bf2/profiles/ or something similar, and look for a folder or maybe more than one, that have like numbers kind of like a windows key as the name of the folder, and delete, all of them. Also if that does not work, around the same place look for one that says video.con i thing go in it with notepad, and at the resolution change it to 800X600 and make sure the refresh rate in there is also supported by your monitor. I am at work so i can't tell you exactly which folder, but look for them under my documents on the bf2 folder.
