Most likely because people get bored :p and it sounds kind of funny amongst "Enemy Infantry Spotted" every half a second.

No the best thing to do with those spotted commands is if you are waiting for a vehicle, pick a spot near you, and then keep your mouse there.. then just spam "Enemy sniper spotted!"... and then go prone and start shooting at them.


Chances are a couple people will leave the "E-battle" because they think there is no chance of getting the vehicle, and then they just go off to kill the "sniper" .. lol

And the thing is, generally snipers don't move... so you can really fool people with that.

I actualy use it to spot claymores and mines... I even say this in chat, but mysteriously the map becomes FULL of them after I spot one...

What an interesting idea. Too bad there isn't a real choice for such.

I use it for spotting AT mines, but only when there's a tank very much in danger, not just the random mine on a road some where with no freindly armour around.

I would say the majority of the time the tanker understands the danger. Sometimes they drive right on through and detonate them.

It's worth a shot to keep a tank up and running, and it seems most people are accepting of the fact that this is a good replacement for not having mines as part of the VoiceCom option.

Whether or not it was good or bad to leave out mines as part of the Main Radio commands, is another debate. Personally I think it's sort of a bummer this adaptation has been accepted and used by the general BF2 population. It was probably left out to give the engineering kit more effectiveness. It's tough enough of a kit to contribute while using , now everyone is spotting your mines.

It's just funny because of the tone of voice it's said in. Everything else is 'ENEMY APC, DO YOU COPY', 'HOSTILE CHOPPER INBOUND, OVER' 'ARGH NOES WATCH OUT THERE'S A CHRISTING GIGANTIC SPACE SHIP HEADING OUR WAY'.
