    Reccomend me a headset

im looking for a headset or headphones to do some gaming with

i have a good 5.1 surround system but because i like the sound loud and people in my house dont take well to a war going on in my room i need a set of headphones or a headset

a headset would be preffered but i dont use VOIP much so i would rather have a better pair of headphones than a crappy headset

a pair thats good but not too expensive would be best for me

EDIT: **** it in support sorry
ADMIN feel free to move this to tech centre

Whatever feels comfortable and sounds good to you. One thing with not wanting or caring about whether it has a mic or not means you're not limited to "computer" headphones, you can use just about any headphones (may need an adapter).

Main thing is, do not get USB headphones.

would u want stereo headphones or 5.1 headphones? i have a pair of 5.1 headphones and there not as good as my stereo headphones cuz they put the subwoofer in the headphones so u get nice vibrations but the sound isnt as sharp

The trouble with headphones is you have to spend a fortune if you want them to be loud whilst retaining any clarity. If you have money to spend then id suggest looking at the Sennheiser range, you cant escape the microphone in there pc range but i think you get quite good value for money. They also do a home range which do not have the microphone but i think realistically that range is a little beyond standing upto prolonged 'being thrown on the desk at the end of the night' syndrome and is a little too good for the pc.

Generally id suggest for a reasonably good set of pc headphones you should be looking at things that cost more than £30 and id avoid 5.1 or extras like that on a headset.

I've had these for a while & I still love them. I can hear the direction of people's footsteps & has saved my bacon many times

I use the Zalman Theatre 6, surround sound headphones. True surround sound and comfortable. I bought the accessory mic after the fact, but they can be purchased with the mic as well.

I find them more useful in a game like Americas Army where you can hear footsteps a mile away, but they do help in BF2.
