Any point in SF MOD?

Hi All,

Not played BF2 before and looking at buying it, but basically there are loads of MODS etc. just wondering if its worth buying special forces as well, or if the majority of you guys just play the original BF2??

yes SF is worth buying, its alot of fun, but you should also get Battlefield Euro Force and Armoured Fury, they are the booster packs, get em from the EA downloader for i think is 10$

ok mate,
thanks for advice.
But do you think i would be ok buying BF2 for now and getting used to it before going onto special forces, or should i just go straight into SF.
I used to play BF1942 all the time, but this was a few years ago and can only remember vague things about it lol.

yes play bf2 first (but to get unlocks you need SF)
there is a few servers running AF and EF those booster packs is waste of money and time ( i suggest to not buy it)
just get bf2 when you get bored buy SF
there is some special offers 40$ BF2+SF+AF look for offers

so if i just use BF2, i cant unlock the new weapons and stuff??
thats whats attracted me to the game so much, how you have to do good to unlock the weapons etc. gives you something more to play for than just killing people.

You can unlock weapons, but You get 1 more for each class if you buy SF.

SF is pretty fun but it's basicly a stand-alone expansion.

No, he means to get all the unlocks you have to have SF. You still get unlocks on just bf2 (vanilla) but there are also more badges/awards etc included with SF.

Out of the near 900 hours I've played this game I have almost 500 hours in SF, so yes...it's worth it :) .

play BF2, get to about 2nd LT, then play SF, when bored of SF, get Euro Force, when bored of that get Armoured Fury

do you ever think BF 2142 will become as popular as BF2?
I have heard mixed reactions about it and dont know if its worth buying.

You could see for yourself and download the demo. I have not had a chance to check it out yet so i couldnt forward my own opinion. There does seem to be a large amount of negative thought on this site towards it though.

SF is definitely worth it. The maps are much better, and the game play (as well as teamwork) seems to be better too. See you on the battlefield!

So ill need to get points and better ranks in order to unlock the better sniper rifles and stuff, is that right?
will the game automatically follow and save my progress in the servers i join.

You can unlock one weapon per rank you progress. If you have SF you unlock two weapons per rank you pogress. The game will automatically folow your progress on servers you join aslong as the server is ranked (it will have a pair of corporal stripes next to it), you can adjust teh filters though so only ranked servers appear.

BF2142 is a load of ****, feels all buggy to move, weapons are inaccurate as hell and take about a 1000 clips to kill someone. Prone makes your accuracy soar through the roof. Its nothing like BF2. The only good thing about it are the vechiles and they're not as great as they were made out. I'm sticking to BF2, try the demo if you wish.
