If you are getting frustrated by "noob" gunners, get out and groundpound. Don't be a sac and redline people. You don't HAVE to have the chopper to serve the pain. If I find that I can't find an effective partner in the chopper, I move out and draw fire. Pack sand, hooah.

On a side note: KDR isn't exactly an accurate measure of flying skill. When I pilot, I rarely get any kills at all. My job is to line up my gunner and give him a stable platform from which to decimate the enemy. Also, Blackhawk time counts as chopper time. A good percentage of my deaths in choppers can be attributed to getting nailed in a 'hawk on the way from the carrier in Wake or Oman.

The new BH is usable if you hover it completely and totally still. I've lined people up in it to give them 20 or more kills a round, but it is hard to convince anyone to gun in it anymore.

I don't care about ranks, but how good they really are. If I fly, I expect the gunner to do as good as I would. If I gun, I expect the pilot to be aware of the situation and line me up for shots.

If they don't meet the expectations, I will proceed accordingly.

Seriously, some peple seem to think BF2 is simply a flying game were we are all there so they can just kill us.

Some of us would like to play too. Too many people ***** about things in BF2 as if it actually affects their life.

If your gunner hasn't spent as much of his life as you playing BF2, so what? I don't gun very often, bu I do enjoy it when I get the opportunity, and it's a much more fun game to have the PIC coach you a little bit as well.

So you might not get 90 kills this round, is it really THAT important?

Personally I prefer bitter, hard fought games that are won by one or two tickets than the 230-0 walkovers that sometimes happen.

the problem is 80% of BF2 players dont look at their map...i have this problem with fellow clanmates. Even when I tell them on Ventrilo over and over again LOOK AT YOUR MAP! They forget everytime.

Noob gunners SUCK....I hate when I get one, that sinking feeling in the pit of your stomach when he opens up with the chain gun, or misses an easy shot, or a tank...

I usually fly for Churrasco on Wake, or a couple of my friends, and I dont fly if they are not in the server with me.

Pub servers ARE for fun. If you redline someone in my clan's server you will be banned on the spot. Unless it's YOUR server that YOU pay for, and you're a complete sac who should have been swallowed or flushed with the $0.25condom in the $10 an hour motel commode, pub servers are not your personal playground where you beef your stats. This is a GAME for EVERYONE's enjoyment. You must be stuck on level 3 or 4 of Maslow's hierarchy.
Play in league matches only if you want to avoid "noobs."

This is not sarcasm but a real question. Is it actually possible to practice gunning in single player mode. Do the bots actually line you up for shots rather than just flying in a fairly random manner?

No, they fly around like idiots. This game has the worst bots I've ever seen. The modded bots for QUAKE I beat these. And they were made by fans who just wanted to fill out their games.
Also, gunning in single player is hugely different from online. The missiles are much more responsive, there is no lag affecting the hitboxes, and enemy bot pilots are way too predictable and easy to shoot down.
I actually learned the concept of solo choppering while in single player. I would fly the chopper, set myself up for the shot, and switch to the other seat to make the bot fly. The bots never used TVGM so I felt if they were going to be used I'd have to do it.

Hey....don't flame the pilot!!! I never pay much attention to typed messages while in the game! If you want my attention use VOIP! Also, I am not a noob at BF2 but I still can't fly worth a damn, so your pilot might have been new to flying so cut him some slack!!! Flying slow and straight he probably could handle, unless you wanted him to flip the chopper and kill you. Anyway if you dont like someones flying, then fly the damn thing youself, and let the other guy gun!!! (There I have vented!!)

When I recognize a noob,I enter pilots seat and tell him to bail outmif he wont I just drive him out of bounds

Cause noobs,usually think they are smart and fly low with attack choopers even If i tell them to fly high so I can TV,then they are surprised when we get killed by a Tank,even if I fly,noobs cant hit a still tank in the middle of desert in Gulf LOL
