Can't login or create account

Ok, I already tried contacting EA about this but with no avail.

I havn't played BF2 in a while and I decided I will get back into it. I go to logon to my account (after installing 1.4 incremental) but it won't let me. Then I reinstalled and updated with 1.4 full. Still nothing. Then I reinstalled and didntupdate and I still can't login.

Here are my errors.

When I try to retrive an account with email "The account is invalid. Either the name or email address is incorrect or is already in use. Please try again"

When I retrieve account with nickname or try to create a new account, "The server has refused the connection"

I've even taken off my firewall and have made my router a DMZ as to open all ports.

Anybody have a solution for me?

try going to www.gamespyid.com and logging in there.

Never had a problem logging in there, its only in bf2

Are you on a school or office network? If so, contact the network admin.

If you're on a home network, try bypassing your router and plugging directly into your DSL/cable modem and see if it works. If it does, it's a setting in your router. If it doesn't, it could be software and will be more difficult to fix.

I'm still the same this morning. I've asked EA support to take a look at my account and see what they think. It's not my connection as I've logged onto a friend's account from my PC. It must be something their end

Could it be a program on your PC blocking ports? I remember wasting 6 months just turning my PC inside out, trying all sorts of network configurations, stopping short of a reformat, and then it turns out to be McAfee's piss weak virus scanner firewall, which was hidden deep in the console.

As I said:

"It's not my connection as I've logged onto a friend's account from my PC"

had a response from EA fobbing me off saying it's something I've done but there's no way, it's a problem logging into my account at their end of things

An update for those that are interested (I'm getting very annoyed with EA support btw)

I've told EA that I cannot access my account I've tried everything, changing passwords, used other people's accounts on my computer etc.

I asked them to see if my account still appeared to exist at there end:

We do not have any access to their tools so we cannot reset passwords, nor can we resend them. Any assistance retrieving old or forgotten account information needs to be sent to Gamespy. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience or disappointment this may have caused you, but we have no way of actually accessing their tools and making these changes.

Now I've explained about 5 times further down the page that I've tried everything. So I take their advice and contact gamespy support, they said:

"Hi Andy

We still cannot help you with another company's game. Please contact EA for further help.

So I've gone back to EA and gone a bit mad:

"I would like some basic answers.

Can I get my account back? can you even try to see if it is still operational? will you contact the appropriate departments at EA?

they're not particually hard questions and my patience is wearing thin. Any help would be much appreciated as per usual.

it really isn't good enough being passed from pillar to post like this. I'm sure it'll do no good as they don't read anything that has preceeded the last message.
