I started on the Ventrilo support forum about this, then to the Creative support forum. Both have alot of people on XFI, Audigy 2-4 series soundcards and others with this same type of problem. Load up BF2 while on Ventrilo and get 2 minutes of laggy game play to a vent crash. Sometimes it will say another program is using the direct input line or ventrilo is sending data to fast and closes. After sorting through dozens of posts about this, everything leads up to the VOIP feature in BF2 is taking the direct input line away from vent and causes vent to crash. So where is the problem? Is it BF2, Ventrilo or Creatives' end where the problem lies? Things I've tryed:
Full reformat of OS
Disc drivers for sound and vid and mobo
Updated drivers for sound and vid and mobo
Seating sound card in a different slot
Every possible BF2 audio options
Every possible Vent settings in voice tab
Tryed messing with priority in Vent, set it to high
Also I've noticed most of the people with the problem are on ASUS motherboards and all are definitly on Creative soundcards in my case Audigy 2 ZS. The ventrilo support tech stated on their forums most of these people are also on dual core processors. Wich i am running one dual core. This has been getting me annoyed as to i cannot find the cure. Plz if anyone has some insight, please let me know. System specs:
ASUS P5WD2 Premium
Radeon 1800xl crossfire
Audigy 2 ZS Sound Blaster
1 gig Corsair XMS led ram
Intel 3.2 dual core Pentium
Anyone with a solution plz post me back
