Re: Ugly shadows
He said he's got them on high.
I though that's a matter of the shader model, but now I've got SM 3.0 and the shadows stayed the same as on my old GPU.Comment

Re: Ugly shadows
Bug in the BF2 engine. Sometimes they are smooth, sometimes they are jagged like you see here. Nothing you can do about it other than complaining to Dice

What do you mean? Set the dynamic shadows to low and it will look better?Originally posted by StevenNevetsI Fixed It!!!

Re: Ugly shadows
I believe that its only with ATI cards personally, as Nvidia is advertised to play with BF2. I bought a ATI 1800xl pci express card semi top of the line, and i get the same nasty shadows and when im in a jet or chopper looking down at the edge of the water where it meets the land that too is all jittery looking. Also some windows or grates also appear jittery and jarbled looking. I bet if i bought the same spec card with Nvidia it wouldnt be like that.Comment

Re: Ugly shadows
wrong... when you turn lighting to low (which has stable shadows) it also turns off dynamic shadowsOriginally posted by EAGLE_18Yeah perfect logic aye? :p
so now there's hardly any shadows and nothing to worry about

I prefer jagged shadows to no shadows at all.Comment

Re: Ugly shadows
I have an nividia card and it happens to me.
I don't know how many threads have been made about this, but there are too many. It's an engine problem, not a GPU problem.Comment
