Hi. I searched the forums, but couldn't find an answer.
I've just started playing BF2 again, and the communication spam drives me absolutely nuts. I like to play on 64 player servers, and all I hear is "infantry spotted!" or "I need ammo!" about 50 times a minute, often spammed, usually unnecesary. And it's louder than anything else - the stupid radio binds are louder than artillery blowing you up.
It's seriously affecting my enjoyment and driving me crazy. Not only that, but the radio text message spam makes text fly by, so it's not even worth typing anything because no one is looking. Essentially, they've killed the ability to communicate in game entirely by allowing/encourage a ton of spam.
I would be very much appreciative if anyone can help me figure out a way to disable this.
In my search, I turned up the original BF1942 1.3 patch, which includes this:
You can ignore radio messages, radio sounds and also ignore specific players using the following commands:
chat.ignoreRadioText <0 or 1>
If 1, No radio text is printed.
chat.ignoreRadioAudio <0 or 1>
If 1, No radio sounds are played.
chat.setIgnoreRadioAudioAndText <0 or 1>
If 1, both radio sounds and radio text is supressed
chat.getIgnoreRadioAudioAndText
So it would appear that DICE at one point realized the need to be able to turn the spam off, patched it into bf1942.... and then... forgot about it for bf2? Those commands won't work.. are there bf2 equivelants?
If not, is there any way, any way at all, that I can filter out all that spam?
Thanks.
