It seems a lot of people ask a lot of questions about BattleRecorder... and a friend just asked me about it tonight but he had to go so I just typed up a simple email with all the basics and stuff... I figured I'd post it here to help other people as well.....enjoi
Yah this is a great site for looking for battle recorder servers.
Ok so you can filter through servers and stuff at the top, they are just simple filters and you cant search for battle recorder enabled servers.. you have to find those on your own. So, basically just type in the names of some of the servers you like to play on... find them and it should open up a page displaying all of the info about that server.
For example I'm going use KoK Wake:
(I do not endorse this server nor work for them...its just an example)
Scroll down to where it says:
bf2_d_dl
bf2_d_idx
Doesn't matter which one... but pick one. There should be a URL... click it. It should open up to a page with a list of files... those are the most recent battle recorder files from that server. When you play in a server with a working battle recorder.. it will save the file here at the end of each round, and you can identify each file by what time the round ended... so when your done with the server.. remember the exact time the round ended so when you go looking for it you can find, if you didn’t notice the files are in military time :P so you gotta figure that out. Be sure to remember to go straight ahead and get the file because they just keep updating and the older ones get pushed down the list until going away forever because newer ones are constantly being added.
That^ what I just said is the manual way of getting the files.. becuase most of the time the files from the server dont appear in that community tab or whatever in your BF2 main menue. I got them manually just because I liked having them and it was a sure way that what I just played was definitly being recorded and that I wasnt wasting my time.
Hmm oh and as for where to put the file when you've downloaded it:
\My Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default\Demos
I did some searching around and found this too:
Go to:
\My Computer\Local Disk\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\ReadmeServer
Scroll down through all that crap and there will be a section in there all about battle recorder... that readme also has a lot of other useful info too, so you should read through it some time.
