    Rising Conflicts mod

A review written by Sir. Blackhawk 5...

    To start off,

This post has no mean of flaming what so ever.

Now a summary of this mod,

In 2028, violence corrupts all throught the world, that the United Nations have no control over. Isreal and the United states; and communist Russia along with the middle east have formed coalitions and battle each other. THis is the start of WWIII.

I have not played the whole mod, only to some servers on a few maps.

Now lets talk about weapons. Some weapons are the same as in Battlefield 2. There are a few custom made ones, that are more "futuristic" such as the M8 used for the US spec op. The grappeling hook haldles almost the same as in SPecial FOrces. sniper rifiles have smaller scopes, which is a diferent in gameplay.

Maps: Maps include a variety of places, desert, grasslands, sea...Each map is unique in a way. Some are city fighting, tanks rolling across the canyons. and there is 1 map that has 3 ships (2 cargo ship, 1 carrier) which i think its a good map.

Vehicles: Most vehicles have been changed. The US M1A1 tank is similar to the one in USI. THere is a tank that fires artillary rounds and Tank shells. One especially I like is the Humvee from the dukes of hazards (i forgot the name) but very noticible of its orange color, and horn. THe V-22 offsprey i have not tested out, so I have no word for it. WHen vehicles are destroyed the remains stay, does not dissapear. Airplane/Helicopter settings are a little bit different, so it takes time to get used to.

So get off of Jalalabad and try this mod for yourselves.

Other than the bad (no offence, but they are) tank skins which will be replaced later, I think this mod has a lot of potential. I'm so glad they brought jump shooting back :) arcade ftw.

Great mod, I really enjoyed playing it, I really like the maps. Sadly though not many active servers. The most populated one I found was 18 people but during a map change it crashed or shut down or something. Now the most populated servers I can find are about 1-3 people.

Had a hard time finding people to play with. Gameplay is good but skins and such are just really bad. But having good gameplay gives the team a lot to build on.

The problem with the mod is that there are imbalances, even for a beta. I mean a HUGE imbalance. The AT class is overpowered. Rockets destroy choppers in one shot, and take down tanks/APCs life bars to 1/4 health with one round. You may think it sounds fair, but combine that with the 3x speed on the rockets, and the ability to guide, and its damn well near impossible to avoid them.

Infantry fighting was the best. I like the nitrous oxide jeep, and a few modifications with the weapons, although the one BOAN team felt like they just switched up all of the MEC weapons to different classes, and added in a new sniper rifle (kind of boring in a sense).

The new jets are truly a spectacle and unique, absolutely loved it. Assault has a guideable tank rocket, along with grenade launcher, and blinding gas grenades. The grappling hook was the best addition in my mind, along with a plethora of other items. In the end, it's great for a beta in terms of depth, but poor in terms of balance (the AA Al-Jahid is way overpowered). I'm sure with tweaks and updates to add more depth the mod will become better.

I only played one exclusive map, the long bridge one. [6/10] for the mod.

Good points guys. Some of the stuff I can comment on. We are definately taking alook at the AT classes and the APC damage.

The BOAN handweapons are using some of the vanilla weapons for the moment. That is until we can get all the custom stuff done. Right now the sniper and the assault class have new weapons, the DSR-1 and the A91m.

I would also like to point you guys to our ticket system:

The team is back from a well-deserved rest. We need a lot more people to work on Rising Conflicts. Please look on www.risingconflicts.com for vacancies.
