i have only had teamwork with friends i play BF2 with, never people i dont kno...unless the squad is good
i really like it when the commander is a good commander...like when im all alone and sad taking flags behind enemy lines he will give me supply's and a UAV, and not just throw a UAV where the action is and give supply's to tank whores....and i really like it when i am in a good squad and the players in the squad are skilled players of Battlefield 2, like the leader of the squad will wait on the hills near an enemy flag...and when his squad mates sequre the area and start to take flag, he will run down and help...and we have 2 medic, 2 support 1 sniper and anti-tank infantry in the squad

its very hard to come by teamwork in Battlefield 2 nowadays because everyone is just after points and stats, so if you come by a teamworking team...enjoy it while it last

God, I love it when an excellent commander takes the helm. Best I've seen and experienced so far the last time... was actually a girl; not only did she point out what units were heading towards CPs, and viable attack points; she sounded hot.

The best teamwork I usually come across is engineers in tanks supporting and repairing each other in firefights.

Even Better is when an Engy is riding Shotgun in a tank and hops out during Tank on tank battle, exposing himself and starts wrenching.

Last night me an this other cat was doing this to a lone tank with a medic in it.

Even better is when two armoured vehicles work together not only repairing but keeping picking Specops off the armour.

It's rare but it happens.

I remember having the most teamwork when BF2 just came out. First weeks or first months, especially in the Demo. People using VOIP. Commanders commanding pretty much all the time. People GENUINELY being happy to win the game and working to WIN the GAME. Its all changed now.

The most irony about teamwork I see in jihading. If you jihad on RTJ, you're almost the largest team-helping person by not allowing enemy armor to do anything.

I agree completely with you.

I remember playing the demo with a few clan mates and a few pubbers and we all used teamwork. As USMC We would all spawn ashore pile into vehicles and move straight over to their arty, UAV and satellite. Blow them to pieces with two Spec-Ops and One support. Then move to flank the enemy at construction.

People on the demo also seemed to be more forgiving. I remember whilst trying to get used to flying helis in the demo, I was in a cobra with a gunner and I nailed it straight against the tower, I shouted up a sorry and he replied "Its alright man, today we are all noobs" :)

Teamwork equals a squad of guys with headsets actually sticking together and taking a point or defending a flag/area. Rare on public servers, but it does happen... even on karkland.

Seriously Six, there are 64 players on the server and BF2 isnt a tactical shooter, so you wont notice much "special" apart from revives and resupplies. Pretty much the standard pointwhore stuff.

Theres been a few occasions such as-

An engineer shouting out at me that hell be waiting for me at the Village Fort. flag in Oman, while I was flying a Cobra.

Or a support player purposely SUICIDING to spawn at me to give me ammunition(!).

Some random sniper placing a claymore to defend my back while I was a squadleader overlooking a flag (my squad spawned off me).


Im sure if I dig, Ill find a ton of others.

Teamwork is too vague a concept in Battlefield 2 for anybody to try to define it in simple stories, which are surreal and ineffective in action, despite the fact that they make a better story, and sound good in theory.

True teamwork begins with what you can do for the team, and not what the team can do for you.

But don't heed my words, since I am not a team player.

Instead I am one of the six billion chiefs in this world.

As such; I will always be the first one to make a squad; I will always be the first one to kite around and capture an enemy flag; I will always issue move-to/attack orders to people in my squad to make my intentions clear; and I will always do my best to kill the enemy and win games for my team.

If five people want to follow me around when I do this, then thats peachy, but I expect nothing from them unless they are clan-mates of mine.

Afterall, playing like I would if I were solo prevents me from getting angry at somebody else for not making up for my shortcomings when I'm the one who screwed up and died. Best of all, I smile when I get pleasantly suprised with the one or two rare gems who actually try to help me succeed with my objectives.
