Method #4 - Using Control Panel
1. Open Control Panel.
2. Under User Account and Family settings click on the "Add or remove user account".

3. Click on one of the user accounts, for example you can use the Guest account.
4. Under the user account click on the "Go to the main User Account page" link.

5. Under "Make changes to your user account" click on the "Change security settings" link.

6. In the "Turn on User Account Control (UAC) to make your computer more secure" click to unselect the "Use User Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer". Click on the Ok button.

7. You will be prompted to reboot your computer. Do so when ready.

In order to re-enable UAC just select the above checkbox and reboot.
Found a proper tutorial for it :)Comment

Re: windows vista + punkbuster
Ok so I did the above and it fixed the problem with getting kicked due to "Inadequet OS Priv." error. But what it didnt fix is when I boot up BF2, the graphics are flshing like a Disco! I have a Dell XPS with 2 GB of Ram and an Invidia 6800 256mb card (of which I upgraded to the Vista Driver) but its going nutso when I boot up BF2. Any suggestions?Comment

Re: windows vista + punkbuster
Hey there, I am actually running the final Vista RTM Release, and I have Nvidia and Creative Audigy drivers, Both were running very shotty until I went to the Nvidia and Creative website and downloaded the Vista Drivers for them both. The good news is that the sound issues I was having were resolved, and im still trying to figure out what the Nvidia Vista driver fixed but I installed it nevertheless. The challenge is that even after I did that, the game was still flickering and flashing like crazy when I fired up BF2. (The sound was perfect). I hope this helps. Unfortunately, I am still screwed when it comes to me running BF2 on Vista (quite possibly due to the Nvidia 6800).
One final note.. Everything else is running AWESOME with Vista. My computer has never run so sweet!Comment

Re: windows vista + punkbuster
Yea, Vista is definitely an improvement, even RC1 runs great.
Thanks for all of your help and all but I haveto say that for the first 10 minutes of playing with Vista it lagged quite a bit when ever I got into different vehicles or new maps, but that may be jsut adjusting to the new things.
I dont think Nvidia is completely compatible with Vista yet, even if they have released drivers already.
