Zoom in at shoulder height, and ride the recoil all the way to headshot.

what i do is when ever i run out of bullets on my gun i get my pistol out and kill em.

Depends on what you do to soften them up. Look, I'd recommend this: any class using a carbine, fire perhaps 2-3 shots at the torso, or if you make a successful hit to the head; immediately switch to pistol to finish it off (that way, you don't end up emptying your clip on the target). I'd probably have the carbine set on 'spray' just for that purpose.

Following that example, just adjust how many shots you need to take, based on the power of your weapons.

I'd only recommend this at medium ranges.

BF2s.com - go there to check the weapon damage range of different weapons. Going assault to get pistol kills is recommended- they have full body armour, their weapons are powerful, and that means you could possibly use less pistol ammo to get a pistol kill. Other than that, the smoke grenade comes in handy for making pistol kills sometimes.

hey thanks guys for the great help, i managed to get a brown pistol combat badge today. i have somehow found a bit of tricks when it comes to using such weapons:
-like some of u have said, dun b afraid to empty ur clip and shooting fast makes a difference between life and death
-any class can get a pistol badge effectively depending on your preference
-using a silenced pistol is very tricky as its silencer is blocking ur iron sights, so u have to estimate where the crosshair is
-if ur ammo is below a certain num(e.g 5), reload ur clip.you can never be sure if u need just 5 bullets to finished your oppenent
-your pistol have more clips than any of its bigger and more powerful counterpart(dunno if sum of u guys knows this fact). hence you are free to use them freely(with reference to point 1 and 4)
