bf2 CTD on load after installing bf2142 demo

I installed the 2142 demo.

I installed DirectX 9.0c Aug 2006 (because 2142 demo recommends Feb or later)

I started bf2 with my link that bypasses movies and automatically logs me in: +restart 1 +menu 1 +username <username> +playerPassword <pw>.

It reads the disk for a while, turns the screen black and then Crashes To Desktop.


If I remove the username and playerpassword from the command line, bf2 will come up.

I am still investigating whether this can be fixed or not. If anyone else has encountered this and found a solution, please share it.

this isnt a solution but this sounds similar to what my game is doing. its battlefield 2 europe forces, and the game will start and it sounds like its readin the cd, then it just crashes to desktop when the screen goes black like it was actually loadin the game..
