Make sure Input Monitoring isn't muted in your volume controls, and make sure you have the right sound card input selected, and the volume on that input turned up.

Does it work with anything else? Is it a general issue or just specific to BF2?

no it doesnt seem to work on BF2 if I blow into it I can hear it so it works just not on BF2 I press B but nothing happens no icon or nothing.

Thats because ur not on a voip server i believe

EDIT: no I'm on the right server and it still wont work

Sorry i cant be of much help. try going onto ur volume controls and checking ur mic int muted

I agree. You can enable and disable it under the options tab once in BF2.

Also, once you start the game, you won't be able to hear yourself transmit like you do in windows, but your commander/squad leader should be able to hear you.

I think I've seen the problem. The enable VOIP tab unselects itselff :SAnyone know how to fix this cause I cant find a way to get around it.

this is why ventrilo is the **** over bf2 for using mics.

I have this problem as well and have not found a solution. It seems to be mostly for users of Realtek AC97, do you have it? (Go to Sound, in the Control Panel.
