I am looking at buying a new gpu but stuck what to get as i think by ctd,s are caused by lame graphics card action

heres the list im looking at from tekheads.co.uk

geforce7300gt
radeon x800rx
radeon x1650pro
anyone got any other suggestions for around the £100 mark but must be an AGP card

the x1650 pro looks pretty good, but would proberly get the HIS version from overclockers.co.uk,

I personally would stick with the nVidia cards! They have not disappointed me or acted funny in anyway. My son's computer has the Radeon card and we have had issues with resolution settings and refresh rate settings for BF2.

Just my 2 cents worth!

anyone got any opinions on the Geforce 7900 gs would this be a good card dont want top grade graphics as only got a 2600 processor and 1 gig of ram just want a smoother gameplay experience

well the novatech geforce 7600 gs is good priced but not worth ordering as for some reason the card is an agp but fitted with a pci express pwer supply socket........which doesnt come with the card apparently

what a bummer

Graphics cards arent always the problems on ctds its bf2s fault. I have dual 7900s in sli and it has ctd over 10 times

That X800 should be better than the X1650.

im starting to get really confused now, nvidia cards are slightly more expensive than ati but ati cards usually have a higher spec, for example the geforce 7600 gs runs 400 mbps core speed while the x1600 runs 500 mbps, from everyones experiences which cards are better value/reliablility nvidia or ati


didnt think it could be so hard to get a replacement card

It can be a job mate. The best thing to do is read up on the possible ones in your range, do your own assesment and go for it, im sure youll be happy with whatever you buy.

I agree undiesrules, read some reviews, don't just read off specs and numbers for the cards, they may not mean anything in the real world.

anyone know how well a 7300 gt runs i know you lot will blaze it as a inferior card but im just looking for an upgrade from my crappy 6200
