you need to remember some of these servers have a bunch of 12-15 year olds running them and not thinking out their rules well. I know that sounds crazy but go figure.

you get the right commander, they can get a gold/silver almost every round in IO servers.

I don't mind the no arty bit. I normally attract it.
I can now have a beer while commanding.
With a good team and so long as you can keep the UAV up for them, you will get a good score.
You don't get run over.

I think he is complaining about servers that automatically demote commanders who kill someone. The idea is to stop commanders from fighting, but it is a stupid way of doing it. When I command I usually focus on commanding, but I also usually defend the main base where the comand assets are located. On these servers you can't even do that.

I see your point now. Well, to that end I would suggest finding a high quality server and sticking to it. Like any other online game, people find a few great servers and stick around within those. Personally though, I cannot stand some servers with the 500 scrolling rules.
I can understand some common sense rules like don't tk for vehicles, wait your turn, commanders don't fly, etc. But there comes a point where the rules are just ridiculous and people go out of their way to rage the admins. It attracts that sort of behavior and it is bad.
I figure, as long as I keep the UAV flying and the tanks have a supply crate there should be no reason for me as a commander to run in and tear things up a little. I know some might disagree with that idea, but to each his own.:)

I enjoy IO but id do agree it sucks for commanding. Though TBH i've been playing alot of vechile maps lately, Nade spamming really does get boring after a while lol. Oh, and does anyone know whats happened to the award sytem? i've got vet transport twice and it still hasn't showed up.....So annoying!

I personally enjoy IO servers and always try to find one.. No helis, no spawncamping tanks.. pure pleasure

If youre vehiclewhores then of course.. its hard to play without having $ss behind armor
