I finally found out the solution on this one.
Before the fix:
Login with "C:\Program\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +restart +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +playerName <playername> +playerPassword <pass>
*wait*
Klicking "multiplayer", the list is updating *looooong wait*
Klicking a server that looks interesting *wait* *wait*
Finds a server I want to join and I gets "There is a problem with your connection"
I do this over and over again. After a few minutes I can get in.. and I´m already angry :-/
After fix:
Like before but w/o *wait* and "there is a problem..."
The fix (at least for me):
Check your router and find the section handling "Max NAT/Firewall Session Per User"
I found this in my logs: "exceeds the max. number of session per host!"
Configure the value on "Session Per User/host"
Default on my router was 256 and I think you will have to double or tripple this value to get a smooth and quick bf2 in the server-menues.
I hope this will help a few of you warriors out there :)
Ps. I know this has been discussed in this forum before but I didn't get a hit when I searched for "session per user". With this in mind I hope this information is not old crap.
