  • Winning Karkland

Played 2 rounds last nite as commander on Karkland and noted a few things to win the round as commander from either side ( 121W L 69pts).

Essentially as MEC my strategy's to fight a holding action only giving up Flags at great cost (with ticker bleed this is how MEC wins).

As MEC, spawn as spec ops at the Gatehouse and blow both ends of the bridge to the train wreck drop a supply crate and stay in the huts by the arty, put your C4 around the flag.

Place your 1st UAV over Hotel and 1st arty strike by the road in front of USMC spawn point.

The Most danderous thing that can happen is USMC will slip around behind the bottleneck at the hotel and take the suburb out post giveing a spawn behind you and opening up a route to the train wreck(they will nearly always take this early on).

It's essential that you ve at least 1 good squad that can realise danger...let the lone wolves battle by the hotel. You cant let the USMC flank you. They lose loads of men taking the hotel, loads again the square and then its street fighting again in the market....all real kill zones to attack. If you can get the attacking these flags in that order they re attacks narrow and their rear's exposed meaning the chance to retake hotel and square....Again if they get the Suburbs you re in trouble.

Of course if they get guys behind you and take the gatehouse and hold it you ll lose thats why you spawn as spec ops/AT with upgrade.

My stragey for USMC is simple tell the tank and APC to ignore the Hotel and other places and head straight for the gatehouse and hold it.......9/10 times you'll win if you do this. Try stay away from the kill zones that re the hotel and square and market.

Other wise if you can't get behind take the suburbs and attack the train wreck..........cutting off the forces from the gatehouse....then take gatehouse.

Lone wolves will keep fighting at hotel then ask squads to spawn at gatehouse.......with 1 good squad you should win.

PS to get veteran ground defence sit in the AT and fire arty....easy

PPS yes there are other posts like this but mine's different......yawn

        Another Tip to win Karkand:

Wait till BF2142 comes out and eveyone will migrate other to them servers and you will have the map to yourself and cap flages easily - Dont forget to ask the commander for a vehicle drop - makes travling quicker.

Combat logic: Static targets that are hiding in a spot that conceals them from 180-300 degrees of view (i.e a corner or behind some obstacles) cannot be found, as long as they don't move (thus static...ness...).

If hidden static targets fire- it will increase their chances of being compromised by 10-30%.

Non-veteran players/soldiers who are hit by gunfire, tend to dive into a prone by reflex. In BF2, they do it... anywhere... including the road; therefore- if you see someone out in the open; take a shot or two at them; they may not have the smarts to take cover before proning.

A smart unit would not run into the open unless he's 100% sure it's clear, and that the rest of his forces cover his rear pretty well. If ever going into the open; make sure you have an objective point to reach.

Avoid shooting-on-the-go; this isn't counter-strike, and hardly ever works the same way. Create the most ideal conditions for engagement; by setting up a defensive, or an advancing approach that does not involve excessive movement. This is what the cover and urban environment of Karkand is made for.

                              Six has done military service?

The trick to winning karkand, is get all the whores, and the best inf players you can onto your team. MEC or USMC, victory is assured.
