    Multiplayer Choppiness?

Not understanding this problem, although I have had it with past EA Games before (James Bond, Battlefield Vietnam, etc.).

    Here's the deal:

Single player: 60fps - No Choppiness / Video Lag.

    Multiplayer: 60fps - 34 ping - HUGE CHOPPINESS

Huge Choppiness = Pressing forward, and not moving at all until 2 seconds later. I also experience choppy "video" lag when I'm trying to enter a vehicle and all that good stuff too.

The problem is, it runs completely fine in Single player, and "appears" to run fine in Multiplayer, but doesn't.

I don't want to purchase the game if it will run choppy video lag in multiplayer...

    SPECS:

    AMD Athlon 3200+
    1024MB PC3200 Corsair Xtreme Memory
256MB ATI Radeon X1600XT AGP Graphics Card

EVERYONE RUNS COMPLETELY FINE IN SINGLEPLAYER, AND SHOWS THE SAME AMOUNT OF FPS IN MULTIPLAYER WITH A 34 PING.... BUT IS STILL LAGGY?

    Please help!

Your not gonna want to buy BF2 yet. Hopefuly they will patch and make it run better. I take it you have been running the demo..... It gets even more worsh when you buy the game and patch it.

Have you set Windows Task Manager - Processes - BF2 -Priority High ? or Realtime? it may cause the 2s delay when pressing buttons.

I would say more ram, 2 gig is optimal for this high of a system hog.

Buy another gig of ram. need 2 gig for the dame to run properly.
I don't see anyother reason for you not being able to run everything on high with your computer.

Look for the lates ATI drivers if you don't have them.

Well that was a good idea, but it didn't work.

Also, 1 gig of ram is plenty, especially Corsair memory.. It runs World of Warcraft on highest settings flawlessly, same with Counter-Strike Source, Day of Defeat Source, Half-Life 2, Doom3 all on full settings with 50fps+. Although I have the same choppy problem with Doom3 in multiplayer...

1GB is not plenty for this game, it's the bare minimum. Yes that's the recommended system requirement, but it won't work as well as it should with only 1GB. You're not going to believe us, but when I went from 1GB to 2GB it stopped all the lag that I would get in a heavy firefight or when artillery fell. If you do the upgrade, it will improve your performance in game and it will also make your computer faster in general (booting, shutting down, switching apps, etc.). Your call, but 1GB is not enough for this game.

                edit:

Upon closer examination it seems like you're having ping/lag issues, but it could be a combination of video settings too high/not enough RAM and bad connection to the server. Do you get this problem on every single server?
